  1. If I should guess, its for adjusting how freely the pedal spins. When putting a foot down you would want your pedal flat again when bringing your foot back. If it hangs freely and contacts the ground it could spin a lot and you can struggle putting your foot flat on it again and nobody wants a foot to slip off of one of these pedals and it bites your shin.
  2. I see Premier League SA is hosting a 4 stage virtual Panorama tour on Saturdays. Longer hillier stages. Good prizes. https://m.facebook.com/thepremierleaguesa/?tsid=0.8008450008012308&source=result
  3. I take it you mean Alaphillipe as World Champ, because Gana is TT World Champ and he isn't riding.
  4. Should get a lot of info here: https://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=24359&hilit=srm+battery&start=225
  5. Do you want the bad news or the really bad news first? You "cannot change batteries yourself", it has to be sent to SRM for battery replacement. Not sure about cost, think last time I heard it was around R5000. The other bad news: You do not get the type of battery they use in SA and its really not easy to import, as its a Lit-ion battery. There are instructions on how it is done.
  6. But even though he is getting older and it will get harder, who said that this year must be number 5. It was mentioned previously how GT fitness builds momentum and carries over from year to year. All can be still on track for next year. They could simply be building on that momentum. I wouldn't be surprised if they send him to the Vuelta as well.
  7. anything starting on a 14
  8. Jip, looks normal now with just the regular slider.
  9. Same. Win10 and Chrome
  10. The current topics also have a double slider, the inside one is non functional and hides the current reply count a bit. I keep seeing the time as the amount of replies.
  11. So having done some research: Shimano 105 R7020 (including all cables): 3129 gr RRP at launch: $ 1130 SRAM Rival AXS (Including everything) :3206 gr RRP at launch: $ 1639 incl Power meter So an extra gear and electric shifting gives you 77 gr penalty. Price can not be compared, because 105 R7020 is almost 4 years old. Edit: The Rival also includes the Power meter.
  12. Well, 105 is 11spd, mechanical and old tech. You can still buy Rival22 for the same price as the current 105 and its lighter. Lets see when (if ever) Shimano brings out 105 Di2, what it will cost and what its weight will be. Until then, you are not comparing on the same scale.
  13. Exactly the same reason I have frowned on this deal. We have a min credit CC with them, but they want you to have a R15000 credit limit. No thanks. I feel the same as you, you have a limit you can cover in one month.
  14. Did I miss the price? None the less, my next upgrade!
  15. The N1 is actually one of the safest roads to train on there. It is not Johburg or Capetown. You get a tenth of the vehicles at peak time than you would get at a normal time in the metros. Only a small part of it is deemed as “freeway”. I understand that it is “Illegal”, but traffic control has always been Lenient towards cyclists there, because the cyclist behave themselves on that stretch and in holidays they know to avoid it.
  16. How do they mach SRAM RED shifters to a SHIMANO drivetrain?
  17. on this route you lose less by just starting with the MTB. its not even 2km before the gravel starts, rather just work a bit harder on the first 2km on the MTB and pass guys as soon as you hit the gravel. I did the 2 lap ride before the TTT last night. I started slowly and then just kept a nice ave power. Went onto the gravel around 200th place, and passed 150 guys in less than a lap. I finished 20th. If it is another type of route, that starts at the beach, heads to the jungle and finishes at the beach again, then a switch over can work, but the MTB is only about 1 min faster than a road bike on the loop, so the 2x30sec changeovers does make it difficult. Unless you maybe start on a gravelbike and do only one change leaving the jungle.
  18. I actually think that if ASSOS played their card right, used the Qhubeka brand as a styling point and sell fashionable kit and casual clothes styled with the Qhubeka branding, that they could actually make money. Take the designs that they asked for. Some of those look super. It is associated with the main sponsor and main aim of the team and doesn’t feature clutter. Now, ASSOS should just make it in a more affordable level and not just super expensive.
  19. Ok, just saw on twitter Confirmed contracts: Thomson Janse v Rensburg Dlamini Walscheid Pozzovivo Stokbro Gogl Sunderland Campenaerts. Negations with: Simon Clarke Fabio Aru Nizzolo
  20. Correct, Gibbons also out.
  21. Anyone still have a roster of who is staying (at the moment) at Qhubeka(ASSOS/BMC). I haven't seen Possovivo go, but a lot of they big Salary guys have moved on. SA riders I assume are staying are: R. Van Rensburg S. de Bod R. Gibbons Not sure who else?
  22. Actually, their algorithms are quite spot on. There are a few extra variables that they can add, but then individual rider info gets too complicated. That said, your trainer setup, individual settings and heat management has a bigger influence on your experience, than their algorithms.
  23. No, not really. Your Garmin does not know what is going on in the game. Your elevation gain on your Garmin is 0m, basically it just counts how many times your wheel spins. In Zwift you have uphills, where it calculates a slower speed, downhills where it calculates a higher speed, drafting that will also increase your speed, road surface (on gravel slower with road bike) and then also power-ups that throw in bonus conditions. No matter how hard you try, your Garmin will never match your Zwift results.
  24. More sweat. Keep it dry. Let a fan blow over your upper body.
  25. 20km+ Zwift ride for me, that goes directly to Strava at least.
