  1. Well, maybe its bottlenecks like this that makes Shimano not want to go wireless?
  2. Can anyone help me with the vitality drive sensor? Mine does not want to link to my phone at all?
  3. Must say, they did not dissapoint. The new singletrack towards the floating bridge was super fun. The bridge did not dissapoint and different distances did not interfere with each other. This was truly the most fun marathon in the Gauteng area for me so far this year. Oom Piet was sapping at the end, but wasnt a super tough climb. Thank you for a great event.
  4. Ja, its a tough one, but doable, just keep your front end light and try keep a bit of speed. I rode the whole thing on my HT last year, it took me 9 minutes and I ht my knee on one large rock at one left turn, but I just thought Id rather ride it than walk it.
  5. If you have a Shimano 11sp RD and you start running out of time, you can use a set of 9spd shifters as well, they have the same pull ratio. Only drawback is that you will only have 9 of your 11 indexed. Otherwise I have an old 8spd set that can be set to no indexing for the rear, so you can use it with any cluster.
  6. Sound cool, Ill try and convince my teammates to maybe join.
  7. I understand what you are saying, but can you honestly say you enjoyed it? Not the chalenge, the polle itself. Maybe I should stop blaming the route and start training again.
  8. Ok, I know Im a roadie and ride a hardtail, but that new downhill after the top of the monster was seriously anoying and no fun to ride. It hurt me more than the climb. Otherwise, good organisation as always. Just wish they would learn that if they added new graspolle, then dont advertise it as new singletrack.
  9. I Think timing and reputation is against it at this time. For next year a lot more people can plan a team for this and as soon as it starts building a reputation of being a worthwhile event, it will grow. I dont think anybody expected it to be sold out in 30 min for the first event only announced 2 months ago. But the people that can support t must, this is the only way to encourage the organizers to keep at it and try and go bigger.
  10. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I was fitter. I did the marathon and the speed for the first 50km was nice and fast. The thing that tapped my energy was the freshly cut grass on places. Riding a hardtail at those times reminds me to check my tyre pressures before the race. The one steep climb, think it was the 3rd last one, just kept on too long for me and when I lost balance I decided to walk till were it flattened off. Must say, I saw a lot of grimising faces on that climb and this was from the A bunch riders around me. That last downhill was great fun, but I had overdone t and cramped in my calf on one corner while unclipping to try and counter balance. and after that my legs just said this is enough. But, really well organised, great waterpoints, fantastic scenery and great venue!
  11. Just to brag and mention. This girl of mine had more guts than brains and did the marathon, on her 26er alu hardtail. I wont menton all her picnic stops and her bad tan she got, but she finished in 5 and a half hours! Well done Nellie!
  12. Does anyone have problems logging onto the garmin connect site, to upload rides, at the moment?
  13. Maybe because the event date is for 5 years from now? Event Name: Tour Durban When: 24 February 2021 Where: Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban, Kwazulu-Natal Category: Road
  14. Looks good, But why the Shitmano pedals on a Campy show bike????????????????
  15. The way that you are stating it it sound like you are saying that all of them just measure one leg and estimates the other. So just to clarify, all powermeters that measure from the spider onwards to the hub, measures both legs power output, or total power supplied to the wheel. If they offer a reading that displays left/right balance, then that is only estimated, basically the total that it measures is devised in 2 with a ratio calculated by the amount of force applied in a certain area around you pedaling circle. So, SRM, P2M, Quarq, powertap (blades and hub) and of coarse dual sided pedals like garmin, powertap, pioneer, gives the most accurate reading of your true amount of power put out. Stages isnt as accurate on that metric, but does give a constant reading, at say 2% below what the others will show. Interestingly, someone like Froome would have a lower % of deviation, because he has a higher cadence, meaning that the force measured has a smaller effect on the Watts number.
  16. Same complaints for the last 6 years about. Every start of year we complain, just ask spidey.
  17. Is that R190 for one crit or the series? If its just for the one, then its too expensive. If for series, then how many in the series?
  18. The fact that someone of her quality, that is another nations ex national champ and she still is registered as a national of that country, needs a South African sponsor, is even more worrisome.
