  1. You guys don't get it... That's a prototype organic rear suspension / saddle suspension unit. When your bottom is fresh the banana is rigid, but the unit increases flex as the day wears on and your behind needs the increased flex. They are working on a race spec unit where you replace the banana for a carrot.
  2. Yes, hats off to the marshals on Saturday. In my group we had a ton of dingbats riding on the right that gave them uphill.
  3. The chip fits perfectly on the front strap of my shoe and so far no problems.
  4. All MTB's have zero experience when they are first built... It is up to the first owner to teach them the way of the singletrack and make them experienced.
  5. This is a scam. Check out the "in search of mr Alfred" thread.
  6. HA HA HA... happened to me up Suikerbossie a couple of weekends ago... feeling like a million dollars reeling in scores of stragglers up the hill when suddenly this legend passes me with a little "morning" and try as I might I just couldn't catch him...
  7. OMFG.... premium bike porn!
  8. Www.cyclingnews.com is another great site. Subscribe and they mail you highlights every day. Or CNN cycle news network on YouTube for video footage.
  9. A whole 80 minutes.... Rough
  10. You DO have 7 channels of soccer.....
  11. Firstly, the frame size is to be measured from center of the BB to an imaginary horizontal line of your top tube and this can sometimes give you a skewed measurement if you have a sloping top tube. Looking at the pic I don't think this is the case here though. As for the right size I am 174 and had a 52 for a couple of years and it was fine, but did feel a bit twitchy at times, and currently I ride a 54. On the other side Mark Cavendish who is also 175 has just dropped another bike size this season down to a 48 to gain a sprint advantage. Bottom line therefore... a 50 with longer stem and seatpost can work if you like a responsive ride but: If it doesn't feel right on first ride it isn't right
  12. I have to agree and say both wrong
  13. Hope that you were talking to roadies with that statement and telling us we can't trust these big hairy guys on the dikwiel bikes. But I have to say I have met one or two dikwiel guys in the past that were half decent.
  14. Yep, that "world famous in Pofadder" attitude gets me every day. Training for the bunch sprint in group P in the Gatsonderkliphoogte summer classic
  15. I have read the rules and they closely align with the Velominati's Rules of the Cog so I therefore approve of your code of conduct. It does mention not disrespecting other riders and therefore would strengthen my point.
  16. I know that its difficult to be courteous at times, and its not expected to greet everyone you see, and that is OK I guess. You don't have to greet the guy in the line with you buying bread. BUT... When greeted when being passed by a faster rider please don't scowl. Its not the fault of person passing you that you are the slower rider. Just accept the fact that you are slower on the day and deal with it.
  17. That's called the BMW drivers club
  18. It might be a threadbare thread, but still good for trolling away the time while sleeping in a meeting.
  19. It is against the rules of the cog to suck wheel without greeting and sharing time up front. I would not disgrace the Velominati like that.... My worst transgression is a saddle bag on long rides....
  20. Nope... Not really.... Too much...
  21. I have to slow down when I get behind them and then I can greet them.
  22. Thank you I now feel soooo much better.
  23. It seems that the Argus is around the corner. The non-greeters club is out training in full force. You pass them and say good morning, but you don't even get a grunt back. You pass them on the cycle track in the opposite direction and wave smile but all you get is a stare as they are too busy doing all out 20km/h intervals with the imaginary team car following close behind.
  24. 33 Reitz street has an actual shop front this time if you look on Google Streetview. There is even a picture of a bicycle on the building - much more legit than the public toilet in plett.
  25. Me thinks Joe Masapus need to investigate
