  1. Except Greipel isnt an absolute knob!
  2. Red ring is at 52cm currently but Im going to tweak it to have two different colour rings. Generally I want the car as far away from the workbench as possible while still closing the garage door. There are times I need it as close as possible to the bench though so that I can wheel my table saw out. So will create a ring for day to day and another one for getting at the saw.
  3. I finally finished my parking sensor. Its using an uno, ultrasonic sensor and Adafruit neopixel ring. Making the box for it took waaaaay longer than the project itself! The video quality is terrible but it should give an idea on what it does... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWnyM8PdMvo I really need a 3d printer, this took way too long to make :/
  4. Wow at that point where its impacting your life I would ask the admin to remove her, but do it in the chat itself so that she knew where it was coming from!
  5. Ahh the rookie Facebook stalker error!
  6. Its a valid point, in this day and age almost everyone will have had many interactions with homosexuals. Its not so much the case for intersex or whatever the correct term is nowdays(I honestly dont know what it is) I have a bunch of homosexual friends, I have heard all of their stories and from that I gained a proper understanding of what they have gone through. It also drives me a bit insane when people try to insinuate that their homosexuality is a choice or possibly the result of something that may have happened to them in the past. It isnt, its just how they were born!
  7. There have been rumors about the Middle East and Africa DD being bought out by staff and the company name changing. Not sure how much of that is going to happen but Im not sure what it means for the future of the team. I wonder which cost center the sponsorship comes from? https://www.moneyweb.co.za/news/companies-and-deals/dimension-data-executives-are-said-to-weigh-buyout-from-ntt/ https://rudlinconsulting.com/category/japanese-business-in-europe/
  8. I disagree about the feedback being better. If someone on this forum has over 1000 posts Im pretty sure I have a good idea about their personality and how trustworthy they are. For others who have not been around as much or treat this as a classifieds site without the forum involvement then it would be different. Unless ratings are strictly enforced from both buyer and seller side after each transaction then the ratings will never be fully accurate. Sites like Carbonite make it mandatory to rate a sale with bans resulting if you dont, its a very different type of community though and that wouldnt work here. People will be people and Im assuming most of the classifieds only users will probably ditch their accounts after a sale has been concluded. The other side is fake ratings, nothing currently stops a user from creating a bunch of accounts and giving himself trader ratings, normally when a rating is given a sale URL must accompany it and be verified by an admin, that is not the case with the current rating system though.
  9. I had satellite in those days, I was awesome Of course the satellite was only on the downlink side so you had to have a telkom dialup for the uplink and the R7 callmore weekend was great for that... until the line dropped!
  10. Wait a minute, you cant leave us hanging like that??!?! What happened? are you ok??
  11. What kind of printer is it? if its laser then you might need to think twice. For running pc's/monitors/routers etc its all fine. I have one running mine and I can handle around 6 hours of power outage without any worries.
  12. I have had that machine for 2 years now, I really like it. Works perfectly and produces a surprisingly good coffee. I did have an issue with the drainage valve about 2 months back but it was a R300 fix and all was good again. The guy who did the repair was an independent dude and we chatted about various machines when I went to pick it up. He was saying that below R30k in Jura you are just paying extra for the name. In the lower end machines they are all much of a muchness, just to make sure the brand has spares available and you are good to go.
  13. ^This, a friend of mine and I both got our staffies from the same litter. He decided to breed his little girl and we had ours spayed as soon as possible. He regrets it to this day because of the trauma it put on her body giving birth. Her hips were never the same and she had to be put down last year. Our little girl has signs of her hips not being great but she still behaves like a puppy at 10 years old. Other than the physical side, the hormonal side is not good for dogs that arent spayed/neutered.
  14. Its a rebrand of this one, there are many of them Seppach etc are all the same. This one is a lot cheaper though: https://www.adendorff.co.za/product/300mm-saw/ This from what I hear is actually a very decent saw: https://www.adendorff.co.za/product/250mm-prof-tilting-arbor-table-saw/
  15. Hammer is a slightly lower level Felder, their saws are AMAZING. Actually everything Felder is amazing. Expensive as heck but such amazing quality.
  16. Lower end table saws are a problem in SA. There is no real in between type model with belt drive and cast iron tops. The lower end ones are all alu tops with random sized and shaped mitre tracks which is a pain. Still they can be worked into good saws with decent capacity, just wish there was something like the Delta or Rigid options they have in the states.
  17. Sketchup drives me a little insane, edges never seem to want to snap together on components etc etc. I do use it though to draw up all components then lay them out on a virtual plywood sheet to get the best cutlines and figure out how much I need for a project.
  18. That no7 looks absolutely gorgeous! there is something about the bigger planes when they are restored looking like a tool for serious business. You did a great job with it, well done!!
  19. I normally boil water in the kettle beforehand and then lower the heat a little when it starts to come out.
  20. I love the ritual of the mocha pot, its one of my favourite ways to make coffee, it can also be a bit of a pain though when you are making for a few people when away on holiday though.
  21. I agree, I have a few Bialetti's and while I love them they are just not as convenient as an Aeropress. They produce a different flavour too and I slightly prefer that of the Aeropress.
  22. Travel insurance is often free if you pay with a qualifying credit card so maybe check that out. Go all inclusive and leave your bike at home!! chill on the beach and do some diving, its the whole attraction of going there in the first place. The roads are a bit hectic and the drivers pretty much do what they want so its not somewhere I would be overly keen to cycle. You can also rent bikes there if you really want to ride.
  23. Yup, a bit of work and being careful you can get good results out of a crappy saw. That one is better than the one I have and I done segmented turnings on mine with no gaps, which is about as precision a job as you can ask from a table saw.
  24. random question, how are you guys handling smaller circle cutting with a router? The fence on mine has a pin for circles but it doesnt make ones that are small enough for what Im needing.
  25. Man that is so typical of you, take something as simple as a drill press table and turn it into a work of art!! Having a neodium magnet on the side for holding the chuck key works a charm, I have a countersink and the key on the same magnet for quick access.
