  1. Are these the skeleton as per the link (which doesn't work) or the same as the picture ?
  2. Was 4 degrees this morning in Alberton. Coldest ride this year.
  3. I had the exact same experience as you. Bought a pair of shorts last year just after the 94.7 and I paid R280 (or so), went back at the end of January this year and they were R 490 (or so). I asked the guy why the exact same pair of shorts and increased in price so drastically and was told that they had introduced an entry level pair of shorts with a Coolmax shammy. Wish them well and walked out. Got onto the inter webs and brought kit in from over the seas. The local guys need to catch a wake up - IMO.
  4. Sorry TNT1 but you wrong. Athena compares with Dura Ace!!! CAMPY all the way !!!
  5. Don't think you'll go much faster if you swap the frame but once you go carbon I doubt you'll go back. The ride / comfort is just so much nicer. Viva CARBON FIBER !!!
  6. You still admit that it's your mate ? I would have kept very quiet.
  7. WELL DONE !!!
  8. WOW !!! What an operation. Big up to those guys.
  9. Don't even know why you asked this question. The answer is obvious. CAMPAG !!!!!
  10. Also placed an order at beginning of Feb & I'm also waiting.
  11. Ja, why don't you just buy the Garmin Edge 500 ? It will cost you about R2300 delivered to your door if you order from bikeinn.com.
  12. Congrats man, many safe & fast miles on her. Use the "holy" saddle, numbnuts are no good. Then as a suggestion, PM Edge_Design and asking for a set of white bottle cages, IMO they'll look better than the wire ones. Otherwise, give it horns !!!!
  13. Eish, sorry to hear about that. It didn't sound too serious but I didn't look back. To be honest I never look back when I hear a crash. I stayed on the RHS thinking that it would be clear but it wasn't, the LHS was clear but eventually got a gap and put in a small sprint. It's a problem as everything gets narrow and everybody wants to sprint for the line. A similar thing happened to me at Amashova last year, a was like a ping bong ball but somehow I managed to stay on my bike and finished safely.
  14. Ha HA, rumour has it that this bike just kept up with an old Schwinn on Saturday, what gives dude ? Got a steel Merida that wants to race it
  15. Frosty & team, excellent job !!!! I know there was a crash just before the finish when we came in. Everybody wanting to get to the front & some guys were finished. Potholes, turns, etc were all well marked.
  16. Looks much slower than a MERIDA :D Hope you have many many enjoyable miles on her !!!
  17. Great pictures. Thanks
  18. Cool pics. Thanks for posting.
  19. That will be perfect, with 102kg of muscle you should be the ideal person to sit behind.
  20. The powers that be kicked me out the A bunch, they know how talented I am. I'm very happy in the B bunch. Actually I'm faster riding in the B bunch than in the A bunch. In the A bunch I start like a crazy person and then POP !!!
  21. I'm with you, can I sit on your wheel for the first 100km ?
  22. Much easier. According to my Polar, Carnival has 595m of climbing, I think the 94.7 has close to 1000m.
  23. Gee you gonna be a lot faster than that. I did a sub 3hr last year for the 103km. I think you should target a sub 2hr.
  24. Just a reminder that this race is timed by CHAMPIONCHIP (round green one) !!!!!
  25. 3hrs for which distance ? For me Ride 4 Sight isn't flat but then I really suck at climbing. There's a few small humps around the Heidelberg area which hurt me.
