  1. both same price - R1500
  2. thanks Speed devil! I've also got the 725x, and its great. also went to the workshops - do yourself a favour and go, very informative and will definitely help with the way you train. I'm actually trying to find out which of the two (f11 or t3) is better, given that polar's service and product is great - dont know much about the t3 though
  3. Ja, you see - daddy wants new wheels, so HRM budget is R1500
  4. thanks for the info Gman. Kona how much do those bad boys go for?
  5. Hi All Need some advice: Looking at getting a HRM for the GF, and the choice is between the two above. She'll be doing dome mtbing and gym cardio work with it, and then maybe later doing more cycling. I like the training zones that both offer, so I cant go lower than this range. So anyone got any pearls of wisdom to make my choice easier? Thanks WB
  6. now I wonder if 94.7 might move back to kyalami?
  7. Santini twist gels are also fantastic. very comfy with a great shamois (sp) Only drawback (for some) is the mesh on the back...
  8. turk, also have a look at where their club rides start from. you dont want to have to ride/drive 15kms to start a club ride. www.cyclelab.com and www.club100.co.za are the biggest with plenty of detail on their website. Dont know much about cresta wheelers, but haven't heard anything negative. During the weeks there are rides from a garage on main road (not too far from Randburg aka "the engen to engen classic" and there are normally a couple of groups to choose from.
  9. thanks Mrmed, will chat to the my GF and let you know
  10. Not too fussed about where (Joburg though) but was looking for a group - got my GF coming (who is just starting) so hoping that a large enough group will cater for her pace as well.
  11. good idea! I'll start that on another forum. but really, anyone riding?
  12. Anyone doing any dirt riding tmrw?
  13. Rabubi - why do you "almost" prefer the team to the carbon?
  14. I ride the soloist team and coming from a Raleigh RC 6000 it was a good upgrade, really responsive "feet connected to rear wheel" feeling. Not too sure what a 'soft' ride feels like so cant comment on that - but overall I'm really happy
  15. so how exactly do you know when your cassette and chain rings are worn? I know you can measure the chain, but the rest...?
  16. go lefty, you are going to have to give us a little more than ulimate... "not 'nuff said"

  18. Anyone know where you can find a bicyle service stand, sort of like the clamp one you see at most LBS, but that clamps on the BB and Fork? Thanks
  19. Been wondering: Can you use say a 105 10sp casette with a Dura ace 10sp chain and cranks? i.e. can you mix the shimano components (all 10sp though)
  20. Bruce, what is the best method to do a max HR test? I know polar prescribe the 2x2 min test. Otherwise just ride until you start seeing angels?
  21. someone forgot to tell them that Wednesdays are supposed to be recovery rides. I went by 2 weeks ago and got shown the real meaning of pain, by the godfather himself. I'm thinking of starting an autobus for these rides, anyone in?
  22. Anyone still riding this in the mornings?
  23. how many laps did they do - my girlfriend (who was on the route) said she only saw them once
