  3. pieter - vat jy daai mechanic stand saam na s2c? Hy moet seker baie lig wees?
  4. Firewalker - I've got some other garden utensils and pieces of equipment that might come in handy for what you have in mind for jubjub. Give me a ring, I'll be there in a heartbeat. I was actually saving it for juju, but I might as well get in some practice beforehand...
  5. Yes, after a hard day in the saddle, battling the sun/mud/everything else, there's nothing like working on your bike till the middle of the night while everyone else is fast asleep/eating/taking a shower. Then you still have to clean the bike, eat, shower and get some sleep. Repeat for 8 nights (Epic) and I'm sure you'll fork out the cash next time round. Remember, he's not talking about everyday maintenance - he's talking about a maintenance package bought specifically for the S2C. I did the same on the Epic and it saved me tons of hassles.
  6. No nancy - you go to the event with your bike in good condition and then you pay the guys from the lab to keep it that way after each stage. Simple really... Apparently this did not happen.
  7. I've never seen an ugly beaver. Such cute little furry animals...
  8. [quote name=Mud Dee I know what you are saying' date=' but I disagree. If I take my flashy bike for a spin to the shops, dressed in my plakkies and shorts and a car runs me over, in wich group will you class me? [/quote] Roadkill?
  9. Dankie Mud - maar jy weet wat ek bedoel... Everytime I hear on the news that a cyclist has been in some or other event, I get the picture of a helmeted, Lycra clad rider on a proper racing/MTB bike...
  10. Geez, have you heard school children lately? Holy moly...!!!
  11. I've got a slight problem with the caption "Cyclist collides with car"... That guy is not a cyclist - he is some-one who commutes on a bicycle or uses a bicycle for work purposes. There is a difference...
  12. I'm guilty! I work on the mine and the way we talk here would make your hair stand on end! I'll try...
  13. Are you serious????
  14. Michelle - he's not new to cycling! Check his post count... He was last in our race at SA's though....

    Tyres for Epic

I rode with Larsen TT's and not a single problem.
  16. All the VA's or just some of them? All the girls or just some of them?

    Any bets

Ek kan kommentaar lewer, maar netnou word ek dalk toegesluit vir "promoting hate conduct in the republic"soos die een po?pol van die anc dit noem...
  18. He means that princess threw her arms in the air, thinking she'd won, but didn't see Jenni crossing the line on the other side. She blamed the men for getting mixed up in "their" sprint and affecting the outcome...
  19. FL - we had Robyn de Groot off in a break with 2 guys in the AGA challenge last year and we couldn't bring the back. The 2 guys said she rode like a demon and came through for her pulls everytime. You see what I'm saying wrt the power to weight thing?
  20. FL - I've ridden quite a few races with these girls and got dropped on the climbs! The people on the forum perceive the girls to be weaker on the flats/rolling hills compared to the VA/VB's and that is generally true - I've spoken to a few of them after the races and they told me that they were holding on for dear life and were not strong enough to come through and pull at the front. As for power/weight ratio - if you weigh nothing, you don't have to make a lot of power... What power do I have to make to have the same p/w ratio as, say Anriette? I weigh 80kg's...
  21. You can be much weaker than the other riders, but still manage to hold on to the group. And remember, these girls normally wheigh about the same as a fart, so they climb much better than heavier VA/VB vets (well, me in any case...)
  22. Ek is seker ons kan by iemand 'n freezer trok leen. Hoe kry hulle die "vars" vis hier in gauteng?
  23. Contact me when you want to get rid of the boddies - there's an old dis-used mine shaft not far from my office... Just don't wound them, otherwise you'll have endless sh*t with their brothers, sorry, meant the cops. Shoot him in the head...
  24. Ride with your gun/tazer/pipe and when you see one of these black f.ckers aproaching, don't ask any questions - just shoot the c.nt or taze him and when he's down, put the tazer on his eyes and let rip. F.ck them, worthless pieces of sh?t!
  25. Alos depends on the type of suspension you get - my fox RP23 rear shock has 2 settings: one where you can choose 3 suspension "hardness" settings and then a setting to bypass the suspension, if you understand what I mean. Iow for flat dirt roads I lock out the front and rear, for technical stuff and downhills, I unlock everything...
