  1. And I can tell you what it will contain: 1 x sinutab thingy 1 x cookin sauce - these are always good for adding weight 1 x cycling magazine that you already bought last month 1 x womans magazine full of beauty tips that your wife already bought last month (and you read it!!) total weight: 45.7 KG total value: Zim$ 1.5
  2. I fail to see why it is a problem because of the following 5 reasons: 1- It's a Mountain Bike 2- It's a Mountain Bike 3- It's a Mountain Bike 4- It's a Mountain Bike 5- It's a Mountain Bike As long as it does not impair on the basic function it actually gives you some street cred PS. It might have more to do with your pedals (axle length) than your crank arms? chuck2009-07-01 23:34:35
  3. 22 avg on the road is fairly low. A good avg for a road race would be around 30 and that will be done by the riders in the C bunch (not sure if they still seed like that or not). Good riders up front would be doing +40 avg.
  4. I would go with the BB. Even though it will spin smoothly and quietly without any stress it tends to do this if, like somebody else said, it is on it's way out. How far away it from getting there is anybody's guess. My second one would be the headset. After I replaced mine with sealed bearing I had this annoying click or creaking sound. It took me ages to find but eventually it was just one of the spacers that was 'binding' and at the slightest movement of the bars it would break free with a click.
  5. You are 100% correct. If it is too expensive for you, move on. If it is not the right colour for you, move on. If you want to haggle about the price send a PM. Why, if you have no interest in the item, do you want to post a 'I can get it cheaper at cheapo cycles' comment? Idiots will be idiots and they will always be around
  6. Personally I don't think it's that expensive. I service my own bike but let's take a major service - to take a whole bike apart, clean everything and re-assemble is more than one hour's work. If you can do this in an hour it means R350/hour. You won't buy anything for R350/hour.
  7. Bike setup has different effects on different individuals. The standard rule of thumb about height, length and distance is just that - rule of thumb. It's a good starting point but just because the rule says the (seat height = inside seam - street number + your age) does not mean it will be 100% for everybody. These measurements are there to work from towards something that makes sense for the individual. Sean Yates for instance didn't give a crap about science of bike setup and it always looked like he was riding a kiddies bike.
  8. Don't have all the facts i.e names, times etc. but that is not the point. Let me explain - your statement eludes to the fact that you are responsible for your own safety and by running a red light on your bike you do not endanger other re. you have never killed anybody by running a red light on your bike. Problem with this statement is that if you, or me, act in anyway that could potentially result somebody having to react it involves others in the vicinity by default. Yes you have very little chance to kill me in my SUV but me, on the other hand, can cause mayhem if my reaction to your action goes wrong.
  9. For the sake of the guy in Sportmans Wearhouse yesterday I hope not. He actually bought ever single one they had in the store. Not sure how many there were but it wasn't 10.
  10. Unfortunately the idiot that swerved to avoid you ran into the 14 year old innocent girl riding her scooter. After winning the 100m in her age group last year she now walks with a limp. Lucky you
  11. I think a very important point is being missed here. I don't see how you will be able to balance all the factor without the riders taking some responsibility. 1. Be honest and start where you think you belong. Stop with the sorry, sorry, excuse me crap if you are not a real contender. 2. Be considerate to others behind you. We all hit a sh*tty patch sometime but then don't hog the line. I'm not asking you to do something stupid but if you have to walk a 0.0023% incline do so but move of the line. 3. Next time you pass the helper that stand in the wind, sun, rain and snow all day to point you in the right direction say THANK YOU you bloody bastard. No not him, you! Most of the issues, not all, can be resolved if you consider those around you. We just love to put all our problems at the organizers door don't we.
  12. I see you and raise you one. No matter what the illness you WILL get a sinutab vaporizer in my house. I even send one to the boy with the swine flu. Must not be a good seller in the stores
Elkegeval ek voel nou better Die single track wat ek wel kon ry was great.
  14. he did but he is not going to wave at you either!!!
  15. add to the list those who use slicks, knobblies, tubes or tubeless and I'm with you
  16. It would seem as if there are some people around without any morals. If it does not influence me, good luck, but if it does then I hope it will come and bite them in the ass. When you start a sale (advertise for a predefined price) then stick to it and follow though. Don't try and backtrack to see if you can squeeze a few more bucks out of a deal by suddenly starting an auction with 'I have offers for x, any one want to better it'. Dis ****** swak om die minste te se en ek hoop dat die vlooie van 1001 kamele invest jou pubic area as jy dit doen!
  17. I would love a carbon frame but I feel like I need to work on my skills first. I fall to much My view is, as with most things in life, if you are good it will sharpen your edge but if you are not it's not going to make you a top 10 contender. If $$$ was no concern I would be wearing a carbon jockstrap
  18. South African mentality - Stick your head in the sand and it did not happen. How much TV coverage do normal women/children get who are raped and killed everyday? Not much really as it is such a common occurrence. Now what happens when comrade ramapoga (or whatever) feels like a sh*t? It's all over the news. You want to make the headlines in RSA? Be big in local pissy rugby, cricket or soccer. Being world DH champion does not count. Winning a stage in TdF does not count. Being killed does not count. any questions?
  19. It's a SA thing. Both the customer attitude AND the shop attitude. There is no real competition to ensure service levels and/or prices stay relevant. But this does not give you the right to be an ass I walk into a bikeshop in LA last night. I want to buy brake pads and they have them for $21. I call the guy over and told him I can get the same thing at Jenson for $14. His response? No problem, I'll match it. Anything else I can help you with? In SA the response would be something like - Ja well go and buy it from them then. Ever returned something in SA? You have to have the original slip, the original packaging, speak to the original salesperson and return it during the same time you bought it. It's this kind of thing that breeds sh*tty customer attitude.
