  1. Hi. I am looking for suggestions for cheap 26" tubeless tyres that will sit on ZTR Crest rims. The kids have inherited my old 26" Silverback Mercury and I need to replace the tyres - it will not be raced, just played with in the estate

  2. Howzit. What cheap bike will be compatible with a 29" SLX through axle wheel to fit an old TacX Flow t2200 indoor trainer? It would be a double bonus if said bike can be gravel bike as well....

I got gifted a used 29" SLX through axle wheel and old TacX Flow t2200 trainer and want to set this up until I can upgrade.

  3. too much kakpraat to read this whole thread.

I have to get an epididymectomy done for a recurring issue.

so while the doc is busy (i'm not having my nutsack cut twice) I'm sommer getting the snip.

so question for the guys that didn't go for the chair option, what was the recovery period?

planning a little breakaway a week later and would rather postpone if I can't take my bike (breakaway includes a visit to the in-laws and me taking the bike to avoid conflict, yes I'm that guy)

It took me 2 weeks to feel comfortable (assured) enough to dare to train again - meaning, I didn't have that heavy feeling anymore of someone kicking you in the balls. I got that sinking feeling everytime I jumped from the back of the bakkie and truck...

I think the biggest concern should be woundcare. Chaving and sweat on a very small cut may lead to bigger issues...

  4. Hi. I went through the same exercise. Again, as with everything, budget, budget, budget... These things are flippen expensive. I set myself a target of R1000 and got these

Have a look on EVETECH and PCLink.

Also, check out the reviews of whatever you want on Youtube. I decided on the above based on the mic review

  5. Howzit. I need some direction RE: headsets. I am not much of a gamer, but I give a bit of online training and have online meetings. I am looking for an overear headset that has a desent mic. My in-ear set is killing met after 3 hours. Any suggestions for up to around 1k

  6. Back in the day, I went to my nearest Lancet lab. They didn't mind me using an empty cleaned out plastic pills bottle. So I did my sample at home... not at the lab...

I was a personal trainer back then, and one of my clients worked at Lancet. I did not know that she worked at my nearest lab... I dutifully walked in to hand over my sample, and who is there to greet me, and take my sample from me? Yes, my client. And only after she asked me if she can show me to the toilet. It was slightly awkward.

  7. OP,

My colleagues and I are in the same position. It has given rise to some heated debates because one of them is a hypochondriac and takes off work for the slightest of issues. He wants to get sick pay and holiday pay. But we have pointed out to him regularly that it is specifically stated in our contract that our rate includes sick and holiday pay. In other words, if he insisted on being appointed on a permanent basis, they would firstly probably let him go and secondly, if it happened, his hourly rate would drop.

If I may ask, are you not possibly in the same position and why do you want to be appointed on a permanent basis?

My need (urgency) to be appointed permanently is based on job security... I was unemployed for an extended period of time, the fact that they do not come to the table with what was discussed before, is playing with my mind...

Having a permanent position will also allow me to further my professional development (doing certain courses) which I need to secure my employment future.

I have not set any foot wrong the last 9 months, and have gone beyond what was expected (even doing work outside my KPA's). Clients are happy. I just need the certainty that I won't be left hanging. At this stage I couldn't care less about being off sick or copying your colleague's actions

  8. When is an employer lawfully obliged to appoint you permanently?

I am contracted to the IT company I work for. Today I was given my third extension on my contract term. Some people say with your third extension, the company is obliged to appoint you permanently. Others say only after a period of a year being contracted, is the company obliged to appoint you permanently.

The initial period was only for 3 months, then it was extended with 6 months, then again extended for 3 months, and now for 6 months. I will be contracted for a year in May 2020.
