  1. Looks like the ones built for the guys at the techY gym thingy next to Calcatchio at Spearhead. Opposite Investec, behind Holiday inn.The guys taht build them are in Woodstock, not sure the name. They specialise in SS & Fixie.
  2. Most of that route is fine.....EXCEPT the first section from the city, as the Argus runs on the highway, and you'd have to ride through CBD, Salt River, Woodstock, Plumbstead and Retreat.....areas I would advise against.Rather head out along the coast along beach rd. This will take you around the pininsula too, then pop over Red hill, from Simons town side, turn right at the bottom back toward CT and you will have a really good long ride. Or just ride out and back. Send me a PM if you want more info for when you get here.
  3. Nope, ended with 3.10.....PISSED! Some chop came down in Noordoek just in front of me, lucky not to actually fall, but trying to untangle was a bi..ch. lost the few guys I was with......painful TT to finish line! Not my day in the end......although I was really happy with the legs, just not the help.
  4. Nope he was riding up with me. I was the one with all the chirps, in the white and blue Falke top, on the Black Stevens, talking s...t with the tandem guys.
  5. Wow....ALL that talk. 5 of us worked like slaves to Smits! Where were all those with yappers! You can't nail a sub 3 with 450 odd riders and only 5 workers! See you all at Spring league.....or not!
  6. Right. Crunch time!!!! Who's in and who's out. Seems D group is at it too, maybe we can catch them........mmmmmm! We GOTTA be front of house on the day or it will never happen!
  7. 1 x Bike 2 x Water bottles H2O filled 1 x Hammer mini bottle with Sustained Energy paste, to be washed down with H2O 1 x Tube, spare. If used race becomes a fun ride. 2 x Self glue patches, to repair extra punctures, incase I NEED to get home. 3 x CO2 bombs 1 x Cell 1 x Car keys My bike will be wearing a timing chip!
  8. Was a good ride with a cool bunch 'o guys.Suffered a little with dead leg cyndrome after min riding over last 3 weeks, but legs will return for the Fun Ride World Champs!
  9. Been down with the sickness, so hoping there is something....ANYTHING left in my legs.
  10. Better get the bike out the garage and pump them there tiaaares! See Y'all tomurra!
  11. True, it's been a while, I must admit. No I'm not that completely clued up on EXACTLY how it works, but I am in the mix with some that are. From what I HEAR, it's not only impossible to get permission to built NEW trails but also hard to get permission to actually get in and be allowed to work on the (rotten, overused and abused) trails that are already there. It's sad as WE the mtbikers are the ones that fork out our cash to ride, our time (volenteers) to maintain and still have to almost beg to be allowed in. Yet the hikers and horses use what we repair! UNCOOL! So for that reason I ride where we're (mtb's) are wanted and welcome. I think it's called reciprecation. We give and they return the favour.
  12. What....you guys are surprised! Tokai sucks the life outta mtbiking. They take all that they can from us and put Fkol back. Volenteers do ALL the maintanance, and Murant has to fight to get permission for that too. I buy my years pass, for the days that I can't get away to places like Velvinpas(spelling) Contamanns cloof and the likes. Where the land owners appreciate us and put the effort back into the trails. So in my HUMBLE opinion Tokai has already fallen to the ROT! OH yeah and those not paying....get a life! Your actions have consiquences for those that DO ride the ROT!
  13. Yeah I heard that too, but also heard that "40 is the new 30", so it seams we're young again!
  14. Nope, just a bike.
  15. Anyone keen for this; https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/113308-argus-training-ride/ Argus training ride 4th.
  16. Maybe still pissed at Burry for wearing that shirt they wanted to DQ him for!
  17. Could be nutrition, could be that you attacked the bumps OUT OF THE SADDLE, and assume in a big gear. Sit my man, drop that gear low low and spin. We are not 20 anymore. Trust in Armstrong and spin them pins. How hot was it out there today, plays a big role in the nausia dept. More base mile and less hammering until you get the legs to do so. Keep it up......the fittness will come!
  18. LoudMac
  19. Yeah, as it looks I think I might just be able to make the 4th.
  20. Anyone come back with that split calculater?
  21. Park in Camps bay real early, ride though to start, that way you get a warm up. After you piddle back to Camps bay, plonk your tender ass at one of the bayside cafe's and watch the talent pass by! Really good way to spend a Sunday!
  22. Then we have some serious riding to do. Not too many guys in E got sub 3 last year, and weather was perfect, lets hope for the same again.
  23. E's looking like the place to be this year!
  24. Well Tourist.....we'll be counting on you for some pacing!
  25. I must have been hanging onto your back wheel, as I got a 3.06 from G last year. Will be good to have you there!
