We live 400km from Swellendam. The cost for our team was about R11000. This includes fuel for 2 cars to the venue (800km x2) and one support car (205Km). 2 nights accommodation and a braai the Saturday night and entry fee. But it is less than a R1000/ person for the weekend. The other meals you had to supply yourself.

I did the short route last year. Few nice hard climbs, but spectacular views. If I can I will do the long route this year.

I took my friend's KHS 650b for a ride a while back. I was really impressed with the bike. I am thinking of getting the full suspension version.

I recorded it and I must say that SABC did a better job the previous years.

Last year I got sick the night before the race. Group dropped me at misty cliffs. Got a 3.05. I thought this year would be my sub 3 year. I stuck with my group and as we started suikerbossie I got my first ever cramp. Got a 3.11. Look like my sub 3 will never come. Ps. Is it normal for a calf to be so sensitive after a cramp? It is 2 days after the cramp and I still cannot touch it without screaming with pain.

If the bike is in a good condition with no scratches or nicks, the bike could last a very long time.

Yes Fanie, I agree. Dev was excellent.

My Nokia is very accurate. On Endomono it even show on what side of the road I rode.

The B and C bunch had excellent bike marshals, They did a superb job and constantly warn guys if they go over the white line. I do think that they should disqualify guys going over the line.
