  1. Favourite part of the vid: EVERYBODY SAY HOOPLA!!!!!! Chills
  2. One perspective on this:
  3. About 1km from the Goodwood / Malmesbury turnoff
  4. It is the "it good wether, me get gud time" attitude
  5. Also, some criminal decided to do this on the way to the start this morning Casually ambles into the road, as if trying to cross, and at the last second flings a rock at our car, on the N1. Luckily it hit more of the pillar than the glass
  6. Yeah, 1A was not wonderful either, huge crash at hospital bend, and three people willing to work out of 50 (second group, after it split at Smitswinkel). A buddy in @ had a similar experience, dangerous riding, big crash at hospital bend. Unofficial sub-3, barely, but one of the less enjoyable ones.
  7. You could do Brandfort and back, though that might be closer to 130-140km, depending on where you start. Agree, phone Cyclotech/Specialized or Cycleworld. @Vetseun Any suggestions?
  8. Wasn't it in 2000? Can't remember how many years it went over the detour route
  9. Hmm, will have to keep an eye on this. We've been using the family subscription for years so that my wife and dad can ride occasionally.
  10. The H3 power supply output is rated at 48V, 1.25A, 60W. And I doubt it uses the max 99.9% of the time anyway. With a fan that should get to a max of about 100W. From what I can find the Gizzu 518 model can run a 100W device for 5h. So theoretically at least it should be fine.
  11. I don't THINK so, didn't look like an elite at the time... but considering my HR for the last 1.5 hours of the race, anything is possible
  12. Probably my favourite event (though I don't do many). I didn't see or hear a single fall this year, which was really nice! Unfortunately I again couldn't make it over Maitlands with the front of AL, so from there it was two to three (successfully) trying to stay away from the rest of the group. They could be slightly more strict with who starts in which group - we caught a CL, that must have started a few groups before AL. Made no difference for this person, at the rate we passed them, they won nothing by starting early.
  13. I've received the email, and it shows in Racetec. It is based on a healthy dose of optimism though, it doesn't match my seeding on the PPA site.
  14. The Maitlands Climb is the one that kills me usually. I think there are a few before that that are more steep, but a lot shorter. A Strava route from a few years ago, but I think it is the same. https://www.strava.com/routes/3060168659587993220
  15. I've found the Pirelli Cinturato's better than Gatorskins (which I used for many many years) - as puncture resistant, if not more, and grip much better. They are more expensive though.
  16. Finally unboxed my new wheels last night - bought them for Black Friday, but it took a while to get the right rotors and cassette. Older tyres with tubes for now, will test tubeless once the new tyres arrive. Prime Primavera 56 With the 23mm internal width, the 28mm tyres look massive! Undecided on using them for the Herald this weekend, as I have no idea how they will handle in the wind. Update - wheels on the bike:
  17. Herald, CTCT, and hopefully all 5 of the Eden area crits. Unfortunately the Amashova is just too expensive a trip from here, so I don't see that happening again.
  18. I like the thought of helping out... but I like the thought of adding another 4 panels around the end of this year more.
  19. Sheesh, that 8KW inverter looks rather big! We (finally) got a quote for our system, going with the 5.5KW Sunsynk inverter. The bigger inverter would have meant cutting down on panels or battery initially, plus is likely overkill for our usage.
  20. Well, from the article on News24, at least they are looking into it: Which is probably more than can be said for anywhere else in the country
  21. Around C. Looking at a year with good weather, a few 1C riders did get sub-3. So possible, if weather plays along and a nice group work together
  22. Love the yellow one. Now I just need to keep healthy and cycling, Ciovita remain in business, and the jerseys not change, for another 15-ish years... I'll buy the 21 jersey, but probably only decide the evening before the race if I use it or the normal Club 21.
  23. I usually wear a medium as well. These loyalty shirts are the sport fit, which for me fit slightly tighter than my Club 21 shirt (RacePace brand?), but not as tight as the Ciovita race fit jerseys that I am avoiding until Xmas has been worked off
  24. Cool, thanks. I will check with the installer on this then.
  25. With the Geyserwise type systems - when the power is off, the control panel inside the house is off. So, would the water still be heated via the PV panels? Any risks, like the system continuing to heat the water past the safety point?
