  1. For me the Philips 1215s work well enough. I only use them while riding in the indoor trainer, so since they will inevitably die thanks to sweat I don't feel like spending more to have ANC etc etc etc. Only fall out when I knock them with the towel, but don't know how they'll hold or rougher terrain.
  2. Also, didn't they recently say your points goal will start going up from 600 soon? Which would make it even more difficult to wangle this team play. Can't find the mail now, so perhaps I'm mistaken
  3. The Race of Truth about how your teammates really feel about each other?
  4. At least now that most age groups can get vaccinated, it should be slightly less of a problem this year. We should be able to get our booster by end Feb (technically wifey could have gone earlier according to Discovery, being immunocompromised, but easier to be on the same schedule), so I should be good to go by Arrghust weekend.
  5. Or those old bike park or start card stickers that took that long to remove...
  6. Pirelli Cinturato tyres on a bit of a special (in theory at least, haven't checked against Evobikes etc) on Takealot, as long as you use the app.
  7. 2021 my wife and I both paid for Zwift. Plus I have Rouvy Premium, as the family thing means three people can use it (me, wife, my dad). Now I really only use Trainerroad, and my wife and dad use Rouvy; really should just cancel my Zwift...
  8. We did it for a while. Ideally the bikes should have the same speed cassettes, and both be Quick-Release or Thru-Axle. If one is QR and the other thru-axle, it is a pain to change the adapters every time. Didn't take long on ours (Saris H2), but tedious to do every time and adds something that can get damaged. Most of the trainers are compatible with 9-11speed Shimano/SRAM. @Chingy182 - wouldn't it be an option to just upgrade your wife's bike to 11-speed as well, as a third option?
  9. Easy 32km coffee ride this morning to get past 500km with outside rides Now to do absolutely nothing for a few days!
  10. A few thousand km's down on both 2019 and 2020.
  11. Done as well. And only 99km left over two days, to make it 500 outside Side note: either my fitness has made a huge leap, or this Enduren works very well for me - I don't think I've ever felt so good at the end of a 130, nevermind after the same distance yesterday.
  12. Pace partner C is not bad either, if it is a big group like yesterday. 150-ish to keep up.
  13. After today I have 112km left. But since the weather outlook for the rest of the week has improved a bit, I would like to see how close I can get to the full 500km with outside rides, so an additional 117km I think.
  14. Zwift it is then for today So did 80 with a huge group. Tomorrow and Wednesday look good for riding outside
  15. No doubt many of us would gladly trade! If all goes (very) well, I'll be reasonably close in a year's time or so.
  16. Extended the coffee ride a bit this morning. Sunday and Monday looks way too rainy for my liking, so rather get ahead of the curve today
  17. Even a very productive next two weeks will leave me more than 4000km short of 2019 and 2020 (although that was mostly Zwift km's). Still, after a k** year, I'm happy with that
  18. Sounds like a slightly different area of the knee than what gave me pain, so I agree with the suggested visit to a biokinetisist, but could be worth trying what my GP told me until then: while lying down or sitting with your leg/foot on a coffee table for example, lift your leg slightly, hold for a few seconds, then lower back down; repeat a few times. Doesn't have to be high, all you are doing is to activate the muscles around your knee. You can do it with your foot turned outward as well, seems to activate slightly different set of muscles.
  19. So sorry to hear. Condolences to you and family. RIP Cois
  20. I'll just add this to my bucket list... We lived in Lydenburg when I was in primary school; I would LOVE to ride through there and especially Long Tom Pass one day when I have the time.
  21. Hmm, I have no need for a new device... but I would like to get my dad a Fitbit Charge 5, since the ECG function is available now. If these vouchers can help, on top of the other Active Gear stuff, bonus!
  22. Steam vouchers have not worked in weeks (despite contacting them), and I'm pretty sure Vitality costs us much more than we save on the Amashova accommodation. Unless you have just about every Discovery product, the reward/flaming circus hoop ratio seems to be getting a bit... meh!
  23. Not sure about to a computer screen, but casting from my tablet to a Hisense smart TV was easy enough. I think it is possible to mirror the tablet or phone screen to your PC, but that adds an app on the tablet and PC.
  24. Probably just me but... if you are worried about the gym instructors driving in like maniacs, wouldn't it make sense to not stand in the middle of the road right in front of an entrance where it is basically guaranteed that at some point someone is going to need to drive? Or if someone wants to park in that first parking spot left of the entrance, they will to wait for the riders to amble out of the way (that is if they don't just act like they don't see/hear the car). The OP made a polite request and even suggested an alternate gathering area. If it means one or two drivers less think "ALL CYCLISTS ARE SELFISH A-HOLES", try it and see?
