  1. Mine is similar, and we are three people using it. With the new pricing structure, it would nearly triple the yearly cost, so I am not touching anything on the subscription screen until I have no choice.
  2. Maybe they don't feel like maintaining the app anymore. Try the web app? https://www.cyclingsa-events.co.za/app_v2
  3. You put the app on your phone, and just show them the digi-card or whatever. Had to do it this weekend, when they wanted me to pay a day license despite mine being active until Jan next year.
  4. Admittedly my memory is terrible at the best of times, but I've also done a few and I don't remember this. Wouldn't we have had to go over Chappies (which was closed) but skip Suikerbossie to get to to Constantia nek? Edit: Sounds interesting though, some day I should take a few days extra and explore a bit.
  5. Cancelling is definitely the last thing the Lions clubs would have wanted. Have to wonder though, with this kind of thing seemingly becoming a more regular occurrence, that disaster management can simply say NOPE two days before the event the organiser has been preparing for for months, and damage to reputation because (some) vocal participants blame the organiser and questioning their motives, are some organisers simply going to exit the game? Seems pretty thankless, especially in the case of a charity organisation that exists for the purpose of helping others. Edit: No offense meant to anyone, of course. I would have preferred to ride on Sunday as well. But my conversation a week or so ago with one of the Lions members here, didn't exactly give me "skelm" vibes, they are super proud of their event.
  6. Obviously I've never had to deal with the marshals on this, so perhaps I'm missing something. But looks to me that the only thing that would not show is the year and the phone numbers? Compared to the size deemed worthy by the UCI. Would folding that bottom part up and behind the rest, with some extra pins, count as modifying it? Or are the officials that pedantic?
  7. Same, I entered when I renewed my PPA... at the start of April.
  8. I prefer your weather prediction to what YR and accuweather are showing so far. No rain sounds quite nice.
  9. What is your current fitness like, do you think you'd be able to do the 50 miler currently? If yes, then 5 weeks training plus one week recovery might be fine. https://www.princegeorge.co.za/route-info/ Otherwise, ask them if you can switch to the 50miler?
  10. In terms of cycling nutrition, these videos are also quite informative:
  11. We've been using the Biogen multivitamin for a while, helps for my wife's joints. Not every day, but when her fingers start getting sore. I've also been taking some of the Enduren Cramp stuff, before or after hard training sessions depending on how I feel. It has magnesium, potassium and iron, so it (or something similar) might help for your symptoms - I'm not sure how its price compares as I just add it to my order to get free shipping.
  12. Crisscrossing the country 6 times in 5 weeks does not seem worth a pat on the back, even if you have deep pockets...
  13. From what the lady at the till told my wife on Saturday, yes. So you could use the Nike discount on some running shoes already on discount, which I wish I had known 5 minutes earlier
  14. They discontinued it last year: https://www.reddit.com/r/Rouvy/comments/sze36e/rouvy_statement_on_the_discontinued_editor/ The statement does mention something about creating it from the Activity Detail page, but my outside rides do not sync to Rouvy so I cannot check.
  15. I checked accommodation the other day (via Discovery Vitality mind you, so who knows if it is 100% up to date), and none were available in Uniondale. So we will probably decide closer to the time if we drive through on the morning, or do the tent on the showgrounds thing.
  16. We had to say goodbye to our Jack Russel in June 2021, it took a long time before we felt ready to add a new dog to our family. This is Mia. She is about 4 years old, and weighed around 33kg when she was rescued. Very nearly lost her due to tick bite fever, she must have already been infected but not yet showing symptoms when we got her. But the vet was brilliant, and she pulled through. Nearly 50kg now, and dwarfs our others
  17. I suppose your mileage may vary, but for me it has felt much better than a Zwift training plan, thanks to the subjective surveys and the progression levels. I've almost never been unable to finish a suggested workout and, especially with the ramp tests being optional, I don't need to dread any upcoming workout. As long as you answer the survey at the end of each workout properly, and not marking it all as "Easy" (even when you fail the workout) in a misguided attempt to progress faster, the workouts are adapted just right. Some of those "Unicorn" workouts in Zwift...
  18. Favourite part of the vid: EVERYBODY SAY HOOPLA!!!!!! Chills
  19. About 1km from the Goodwood / Malmesbury turnoff
  20. It is the "it good wether, me get gud time" attitude
  21. Also, some criminal decided to do this on the way to the start this morning Casually ambles into the road, as if trying to cross, and at the last second flings a rock at our car, on the N1. Luckily it hit more of the pillar than the glass
  22. Yeah, 1A was not wonderful either, huge crash at hospital bend, and three people willing to work out of 50 (second group, after it split at Smitswinkel). A buddy in @ had a similar experience, dangerous riding, big crash at hospital bend. Unofficial sub-3, barely, but one of the less enjoyable ones.
  23. You could do Brandfort and back, though that might be closer to 130-140km, depending on where you start. Agree, phone Cyclotech/Specialized or Cycleworld. @Vetseun Any suggestions?
  24. Wasn't it in 2000? Can't remember how many years it went over the detour route
