  1. (P.S. With all due respect Spat being a 'stand up guy' is not mutually exclusive to being a criminal.) I never said it was, all I said was that I am sure if you asked Neil he would explain how he deals with this, as someone else said he probably takes all the details and then goes from there. If you were trying to sell your bike and took it into Neil, after giving your details would you not expect him the to go forward and deal with you?
  2. Hey I know Neil and he is a good guy... He deals in second hand bikes so I guess there are defnitely going to be scenarios where dubious goods are brought in, I hear your point edge design you want to know how he vets if the bikes are stolen or clean? Dont know personally but believe Neil is a standup guy so I am sure he would give you that detail if you asked him.
  3. Yip no pressure..... Airbender need the Hemassist before Sunday!!!
  4. Hey Airbender if you get bulk supply or something then I will share with you The lengths the PPA seeding systems has got us to go to, just to move up
  5. I just did an upgrade from DA7800 to the DA7900 The 7900 feels softer than the 7800 but the 7800 was also very precise and very "soft" I love the Shimano feel and dont think I will move. Have heard mixed reviews from some people that have gone the Sram route, I guess it comes down to personal preferance. Must say that SRAM is definitely bank for you buck, and it weighs in lighter as well.
  6. Very good constructive suggestions and input, is there a mechanism for us to take this forward to PPA body and get someone to comment from their side or give feedback. It seems we constantly have this type of thread and very good suggestions are made but nothing really comes of it. Would be great if the PPA logged onto the Hub to contribute and discuss these suggestions.
  7. Thats diabolical
  8. From PPA web site: So we adjust the winner's time and calculate a difficulty factor “beta”. This makes the gap between the winner and you count less in difficult conditions and more in easy conditions.

  10. Very nice, where did you get the Schwalbe Ultremo R.1 tyres, and how much were they?
  11. I had fitment done at the Sports Science Institute and could ride both 53 and 51cm, I recently changed from the 53 down to the 51, it feels much more responsive and there is definitely less flex. Cornering is much tighter and takes some getting used to though. The pic above though does look like itstoo small for him
  12. Congrats Wannabe, sure you gonna have many happy miles on her. Looks great. Will look out for you Sunday.
  13. You sure about that, or is that tongue in cheek
  14. Have Oakleys gascans for the car.
  15. What has it done for his PPA seeding...LOL
  16. Have to admit though that he has talent, strong Time trial and strong climber, it just seems that he has/had a great future in terms of racking up the titles, perhaps even challenging Lance for 7 in a row, sad that he may be out because of doping, a huge let down.
  17. Bought a set of Rydons from CWC online best price and have been riding with them for about a week now, they are truely great. The clear lenses adjust perfectly to the light conditions, originally was going to opt for the red lens but am glad I went with the clears for now. Will probably look into getting darker polarised lenses later for those very bright days. One thing I miss from the Evil Eyes though is the sweat band it had on top.
  18. Hey congrats Wannabe, cant wait to see pics of the new ride. You were very strong on the old steed, if that one's going to be lighter then the guys better watch out.
  19. It was off wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_doping_cases_in_cycling
  20. I am with you, hey serious doubts, those guys perform at a level that is almost impossible to fathom. I remember there being a list of names taht have been associated with doping and going through that list was like so shocking and sad but most of the big names have had their names associated with doping at one time or another. Will try and find the list.
  21. Depends on the guy on the bike, regardless of it being a road or MTB bike, you get cool, social guys and you get the other school.
  22. Hate to say it but I am a big Contador fan, I liked the guy not sure why, but thought of him as the underdog when the Lance/Contador battle was happening, maybe it was just Lances attitude that he could come back and Contador woudl have to move over. I was super impressed with the way he climbed in the 2009 tour away from Lance, Andy and frank to seal the win. I was very dissapointed when this news broke and would have loved to see him battle it out with the guys this year again. I still dont see where all the animoisty comes from against him? He does not appear to be arrogant or the like? what am I missing beside his dubious diet?
  23. I ride through a pretty dodgy part of Cape Town i.e lower main road and I constantly think about this, not sure what I will do in this scenario, do any of you ride with some sort of protection/weapon? Probably best to just give the bike off, but I guess you can way up the scenario. Yesterday with the Gale winds there were a couple of times when you going so slow you an easy target.
