  1. Peach, I love you but you're wrong. I've been punched in the nose more times than a sparring doll and I still do stupid stuff. Violence just escalates a situation and the only thing the receiver learns is that their hatred is justified.
  2. Hey, just as I'm allowed to have the rare moment of making sense, Peach is allowed to occasionally act like a chop.
  3. Dear Amanda, PR, like comedy, is all about timing. Generally, a good time to not complain about the way 'taxi drivers' (as you've labeled anyone driving a van) treat cyclists is directly after a bunch of cyclists have violently attacked a taxi driver in an apparently unwarranted fashion. Additionally, the cycling community would appreciate it if you didn't speak on their behalf anymore. Your enthusiasm is noted but you're not making us look good. Also, proof read stuff before you hit the send button. Not only does it make your argument more coherent but even if the spelling and grammar is all correct you should be calm enough to realise sending it isn't a good idea by the time you've finished.
  4. Don't rule out Mr Price either. Give me R300 and I can put together a kit with more bright, clashing colours than Vishnu during a Holi festival in the gay quarter of New Delhi.
  5. You guys have got it the wrong way round, kit that bright is for us hackers. If I hadn't been all lumo yellow and green that guy wouldn't have been able to bunny hop me while I was sprawled across the track. Super Mil has earned the stealth kit.
  6. The colours are there to assist the medivac chopper. But *fistbump* for the weekend, you absolutely hauled it down that track. When I first took a look at the lines parts of it looked like a bike shouldn't even be able to go down there. The female riders were all seriously impressive to watch.
  7. It was terrible. We felt like pieces of meat. WE HAVE FEELINGS TOO!
  8. I think a contributing factor is the lack of law and leadership in our country. People feel like there's no justice. Every time a traffic light goes red three more people will still fly through, some of them on the cellphones. Nothing happens. People get bust drunk driving, nothing happens. People get caught for robbery, nothing happens. We feel like we need to take it on ourselves to show other people what's right or wrong, that we need to shout to sort things out because it's just chaos around us and nobody is doing anything about it. So this frustration boils over at the slightest thing, a person not indicating, a cyclist straying into the road, somebody texting on their phone in traffic and we go mental because we feel like if we don't nothing happens, the person won't learn their lesson, there will be no repercussions… nothing will happen. It's not a good situation.
  9. But are they garishly, eye-bleedingly bright?
  10. Orange and yellow looks sweet though I'm considering an offish, muddy brown after the weekend. No one's excluding you boys, they've got ladies sizes as well.
  11. Great summary, it's almost like I was there. ????
  12. Kind of like saying BMXs are finished because they've got such small wheels. A bike for each purpose folks (at least that's the way you need to explain it to your partners… gotta collect 'em all!)
  13. Looks like I'm joining you, Slowbee, with even less preparation! I guess that gives me like 8 weeks to cram for training? And I'm probably going to have to do it on a DJ bike… woohoo
  14. Thanks for the prize, guys. Wow, it might have been prudent for me to check what the race was before entering! 240km is quite a distance for a lowly dirt jumper who's idea of a distance ride is a quick pedal along the Spruit… Should be interesting
  15. Tough one to push Elgar down the order after batting so well at the front but Alviro will definitely be opening with Smith, I imagine. Keen to see Abbot have another crack as well. I can't remember if he can bat a bit with an old ball like Parnell can but he's surely the stronger of the two bowlers and hopefully another surprise element for the Aussies.
  16. Can totally vouch for this. Some things that seemed so difficult trying on my own we're suddenly doable with just one or two simple pieces of advice from Peach.
  17. You shut your filthy mouth! This one has more colours and stuff.
  18. Why not consider displaying the types of riding and how predominant the respective wheel sizes are (and what the pros and cons are) through the use of an info graphic? This is just a really rough one with thumbsuck data but you get the picture? http://i.imgur.com/DDfiCOE.png
  19. Tough one. 650Bs are for men under 165cm but they're also for girls. Your 170cm height creates a real conundrum. Are you at least concerned about your times in races, because that could swing it.
  20. Man, I'm missing out on a 29er by like 5mm. I'm considering ordering platform riding shoes.

  22. It's a good laugh at their expense but I think it's just some misguided pigeonholing to cater to the not so serious, brand new riders who have absolutely no idea of what they want to do with a bike and ask their sales staff the same thirty questions every time. In their defence, they do a lot of good work, the staff are good guys and they put on a fun event last night. We just thought this little piece of helpful signage was worth a giggle.

  24. "Listen, Mr Fogg, your results from the bike fitting came back and… I don't know how to say this but… computer says no."
