  1. Thanks to Revu, my Radar’s is back in use.
  2. Absolute Absalon
  3. Great run. From that low heart rate sure you van push faster.
  4. Some serious big chainrings on some of those bikes.
  5. Our climate has changed over the years. Yes the days are hot, 38 - 43 degrees. Our evenings and early mornings has cooled down considerably. Early morning starts is best.
  6. Pleasure. Various options, you can go past the airport on the cobblestone road out on the Tellerie Pan road for an out and back into the Kalahari. There is a loop through the Kalahari but not during summer. You can go left over the bridge and head in Groblershoop direction, these farmers have closed some of the sections, but are friendly and do not mind if cyclist open a gate. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/8399107 Dirk from Cycle City is keen to take cyclist out, normally during December, here is an actor, Charlie, that also rides with Dirk. The normal place where the cyclist leave is at the stop street in Schroderstreet in front of the old Gordonia Hospital. Being summer early starts 5am, 6am and perhaps 7am, but it is going to be hot. We are still undecided if we should leave for Heroldsbay, but please send me PM perhaps we can meet, I can explain over the phone, my cycling took a serious back seat the last three years, probably done 200km in those 3 years, but should be good for a 20 - 30km ride.
  7. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/1502734 We call this route Kanoneiland blok. There is a part were you ride past the refuge dump, but you can skip and make it out and back and just stay on Louisvale side. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/2032514 This is part of the Rateldraai route. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/150737 Travel by car to Orange Rus and ride the trails of Gawie Steyn. There are 4 different options, the one along the river is special. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/1502751 Long day in the saddle from Upington to Keimoes, using the Eksteenkuil gravel road. In Keimoes head out of town but choose the gravel road past sementry to Soverby, Curries Kamp to Kanoneiland. Option to drive to Orange Rus and only do Keimoes blok about 63km. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/47095352 Rateldraai route. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/47095493 Upington to Keimoes with pick up in Keimoes, climbing Tierkop in Keimoes to have a view of the Orange River Valley. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/47095888 Will be able to assist even with routes around Upington on the retaining walls, pass the golf course and airport. Sadly my training is seriously lacking.
  8. Yes here are a few routes. My training is non existent this year. But more than willing to hook you up with the local`s or even routes if you want to explore yourself. Do not expect alot of climbing, but beautiful gravel routes along the river, vineyards with few trails build by farmers around Kanoneiland. From Upington you can also do a route over the "meent grond" that is around 45km, names Rateldraai. Willing to drive a bit, can recommend Khamkirri, the owners have built a trail. If you are in Kakamas or willing to travel, speak to Gerhard at the Pink Padstal. Can give you few route options from 25km to 100km.
  9. Same problem with two pairs. Decided yesterday afternoon time to try Revu for replacement lenses. Pleasant dealings thus far and will report back when fitted.
  10. Congrats, more pictures please
  11. Fake, the rear brake is routed incorrectly, not very good copy, the very first routed like that.
  12. Christie thank you for your reply and valuable inputs. Great coffee one tick to Mythos. Longevity one tick to Jura. The drawback of the platteland living, no showrooms.
  13. My training this year has been almost Zero. Spending money on anything bike related would be a expensive coat hanger. From childhood have always wanted a Seaco bean-to-cup machine, but seems they are no longer popular. Is the R7k premium to buy Jura E8 over a Mythos X1 2.0 worth it?
  14. Enjoy your new bike!
  15. Looks like Jewbecca was right on the Trickstuff Piccola brakes. https://www.pinkbike.com/news/interview-trickstuff-announces-3-month-pause-following-huge-growth.html Gives more time to save up!

On my school ride this morning he came in on mtb hardtail with Tri-bars and lights. Came 23rd last year. Not exactly sure when he started around 2016 to cycle with his daughter.
