  1. Hairy will sort this. My 2 cents, the shocks need attention, they might be under pressure, and rebounding a little fast.
  2. They used to make some decent BMX's, can't see them making a bad MTB.
  3. He did say that, yes, he also said that there was no way he was on juice...
  4. So, do you do it on a road bike, or are there extra kudos for a MTB on a trail? Or at least on a jeep track. There is a climb between 2 hotels, jeep track, 22km, 1005m vertical accent. So 8,5 times, but I don't know if the break pads will handle the decent 8 times? So you setup seconds at both hotels, drink, food, whatever is needed. It's a hard climb, but the decent has no inclines, so that's all rest. 2 problems, you start the climb at 1850m above sea level, proper mountain climbing. The second is the weather and temperature changes. Going back to the multiple short climbs, climb for 7 minute, descend for 3, versus, climb for 2,5 hours, descend for 1/2 hour? Bigger kudos for owning a proper hill, less for the tiny one... And yes, 2 bananas, you never know if you have a mate ride with you, and, of course, you want to share.
  5. I got a 100m vertical climb behind my house, 90 times should do it, Takes me 5 minutes to the top. Let's say, I take it slow, make it a 10 minute round trip. 890 minutes, that's 15 hours... Not doing anything this Sunday... Think I will need my head lamp and a banana.
  6. I finally figured it out... This is the perfect bike for the guys training with a weaker partner.
  7. Hope she recovers fast.
  8. Very cool pic... Wish I could still jump like that! Woaw is me...
  9. I like that Yeti too much... Where can I find one?
  10. That's what I was thinking, You are going the opposite direction to the traffic on W Nicol, there is lots of space on the left, path and wide yellow. Only a short tight bit, about 200m at Peter Place, then there is a service road to Ballyclare which also has a service road, almost all the way down. I would turn at the school half way down, go one block up, then back to the spruit, thus not getting back on at the bridge. And sorry, you're on a bike, that valuable enough. Cheap, ugly, beaten-up, doesn't matter. A wallet... a cell phone... money... And the mugger doesn't know what you have, just that you might have. Do the ride with BlackBike.
  11. Yeh, thought it was a PaS. Sorry man, it is your subject matter that makes the photo. There are better executed images, better composition and technically correct. Your skill were good enough to get a great subject into a good photo. Kudos.
  12. The real question is; Why do you race? -or- Why don't you race?
  13. Ahhh, didn't realise that was yours... Good work. Care to share the EXIF data, lense, camera and composition?
  14. Yip, that's kinda what I did... It is a very good photo. But that crashing one and the Sam Hill one and the photo bomb and the free ride one and the old timer and Jonkers and... Dude, they all so bloody good.
  15. Seriously, GT or Marida, Can't go wrong.
  16. Sjoe tough ask. All those bikes are good. There's a lighty I ride with, he's 22 Ok... But he rides that GT like he stole it 10 minutes ago. Cracking scooter. And that Merida, is shweet too. My advise, if you like this riding hullabaloo, then prepare yourself for multiple scooters. I'm buying second now.
  17. I recon if you go round the bit behind Pick n Pay, then back down to the spruit, you should be OK. But I don't know... Gumtree is OK, but you will get a better deal and bike on the hub classifieds.
  18. Sixer all the way. Converting a cherished bike to SS seems the way to breath new life into it...
  19. I have been thinking about doing it on my son's 24" bike, or his 16" BMX ONLY JOKING! Full respect to the guys who do that type of riding. It's just not for me.
  20. Emerentia with the kids...
