  1. Always someone with a wooden spoon on the hub. RA cycles were selling specialized bikes online(some to here in SA and someone here in the western cape) After numerouse warnings from Spez usa they continued so spez has pulled the plug on selling to that shop.Seems like there are a few people crying over spilt milk. Are you one of them sharky
  2. Have had to do the same unfortunately, can't wait around for specials that may or maynot happen.CWC may not even have the stock so i had to go the buycycle route.Chris you loosing sales bud.
  3. Really don't mind gay cyclists,in fact many of the guys i ride with ride NINER bikes.I'll still ride with them no problem.
  4. They must have some really crappy 26' geometry because the geometry on their 29ers are pretty standard, even a bit longer than giant and specialized.
  5. Ahaa some guys just love to argue.Interesting point but if you want to look at time on the bike the the ds is still way behind.Sauser has done 18 mtb races so far this year.Trans Germany,Swiss bike masters and marathon worlds alone come to over 20hrs riding.I have all his race time this year somewhere if you really want to know how it is all broken down.
  6. It's the only way to go.Not the fact that there is now 10 at the back but rather the single or double blade that you ride with in the front that makes a HUGE difference.
  7. Sauser hasn't races a 26er once this year.90% has been 29er ht and 10% 29er DS. Funny that world champs XC,marathon and the word cup have all been won by 29ers. Remember wheelbase is also relative.I am the same height as Burry and ride a medium. My medium 29er HT has a wheelbase over 2cm shorter than if i was riding a 26er DS.
  8. Yep,here is the link: http://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=91694
  9. Not sure but i think i saw a link somewhere of a guy using 9sp rear derailer(xo) and the rest 10sp so i think it will work together, will do some research.
  10. 1 up to Dylan the mechanic to the world champ and rest of the team.A south african and stays here in Blouberg,Cape Town.
  11. Crash ,broke bars dnf.On his twitter he says he had the legs on the day but not the brains.lol
  12. You can all stop moaning now it's comming.Kulhavey was testing it at worlds this weekend.
  13. I had one for a few months and bottom line it's a class bike. Was very happy with it and compares and is even better in some points than ANY of the big brands out there. It has all the latest tech and more.Frame weighed 1180g on my scale, has tapered headtube,BB30 bb and internal cable routing all making it a very nice bike.I am riding a s-works 29er ht at the moment and if i had to close my eyes i wouldn't be able to tell the diffs between the 2 bikes.Go ahead and buy it,you wont be sorry. The agents are the guys who do Cervelo so the backup will be good and the guy there(Dave i think)was very helpfull when i was looking at getting one. Mailed me the geometry as well as comparisons to the scott and cannondale 29er bikes. Go for it.#Good luck. SB
  14. Anyone know who stocks revolution spokes here in SA?
  15. When i upgraded from my sram/xtr/gripshift 2X9 groupset to full XX i lost a huge 70g so do your homework before you spend cash.Go 2x9 keep the gripshift and change as much as you can to kcnc.#My 2c
  16. Sorry Andy, you obviously work for Spez or have not done your homework.Check out the US prices of Specialized and you will see you local guys are charging around R10/11-$.A local shop here in CT (non dealer)is bringing in frames, has stock and selling them 10K less than the specialized dealers.Just shows you how much the local agent is raping you.
  17. Where you situated, have a giant one i might let go.
  18. Chubba you going way overboard, this will be no problem for you.The cool thing is the route is so lekka you wont even notice the distance. Also entered but going away so will only be able to do a few rides before then. It's going to be a time of cool single track, braai and beer.
  19. If you posted this a few months ago i would say the ibis.Definately a far better bike BUT as you have only a week to go there is no time to ride and adjust to a new bike.Even if you try to get the build the same you still might be out by a few mm.It takes time to get used to the new bike. Stick with the merida and what your body knows and has adjusted to. My 2c.
  20. Old drug, been used for years in the peloton because they new UCI could never detect it.Until now that is.The cyclists will just switch to IGF-1,until a test for that is found of course.
  21. The guy in the photo is dodge i must say.I mean, yellow bartape, yellow tires, purple bottles, blue helmet. All suspect in my eyes.
  22. Sorry the headtube is 134mm and they only make M/L/XL .Headtube the same for all.
  23. If you are a medium I would not look at the Cannondale. As you know Cannondale uses the same size Headtube from a small to a xl bike. The problem comes in for 29ers that to accomodate the lefty they have to have a 135mm headtube which is HUGE in 29er terms. In large and bigger it might be ok but in a M the front end of the bike is going to be too high.Compare the geometry with all the other 29ers out there and you will see. That is why they spec some of the 29ers with 80mm travel.Don't be fooled by the looks etc(they are great looking bikes)the geometry is not right. my 2c
  24. Still think the bunches are toooo big and and things will be even more unsafe changing to a single GC and only 20 points up for grabs. That means EVERYONE is going to contest the sprint.OOOOUCH.
