  1. So which is the best local airline to use if you taking your bike with you around the country?
  2. If i remember the lefty needs a needle bearing reset every 25hrs and a damping cartrige and oil seal change every 50hrs.You can of course just carry on riding but if you ever have problems with the fork you know what the agent are goung to say.... All of this must be paid for by you so factor that in your purchace.
  3. I would go with the spez.Problem i have with the cannondale is as said before lefty is very high maintanance. If you want to swop out stems or wheels its a hassle but the biggest issue i have is that all the bikes in the range from size S all the way to XL all share the same head tube length. That is hardly a coustom fit frame to your size.Backup must also be looked at and i'm sorry but when Cape Cycle Systems lost Cannondale and it went to Omnico things went belly up,so that would be GT out for me as well.Don't get me wrong i think Cannondale make great bikes(owned 26 of them) but taking all things into account i would go with the spez.Don't go for the most expensive one,go for lower spec and ask the shop to trade in some of the parts and upgrade. 4. CSA license is easy, got that in 1 day,if you doing nationals you need to get a full racing license and to get that you have to belong to a club.CSA will only give license once club has authorised it and there lies my problem.
  5. To get a racing license you have to belong to a club and csa wont give license until your club gives permission.Problem is tygerberg is so big they not sure who is part of the club.
  6. Club is very disorganized.I have welcome emails, collected my board and yet when i try get my CSA license organized thay tell me i'm not part of the club.Sent emails, made phonecalls, even telling when payment was made off credit card, still nothing.I've given up.
  7. The real problem here is there is obviously a buyer somewhere here in Cape Town for these bikes.I do believe the wheel turns and this will come back to him a 1000 times over.
  8. What is going on in Cape Town, just came from my lbs in Table View and heard they were robbed last night.Couple of giant anthems, specialized epics and stumpjumper ht.Watching the video feed guys were real pros, around 1 min in and out, knew what bikes they wanted and all.Shop has alarm, video and centre has gaurds, nothing helped.Guys who own bike shops,if you see some dodgy guys checking out your shop and stock be carefull.
  9. Naa,thats her normal look.Nothing wrong with letting the competition think you in the hurt box, until the sprint that is.
  10. They were taking it easy on hells.Raced against them in league and believe me Ashley and Sharon could of rode away from the whole bunch on hells if the wanted to.
  11. How about PPA telling us a bit more detail about 'operating expenses'.Rumour has it thay spend more on salaries than they put back into races. Please tell me i'm wrong.
  12. iPhone 4s, taken at work.Seen this before me many times and every time i still am amazed.
  13. You give a thumbs up to a shop that replies 3 weeks later .Not sure what kind of service you used to.
  14. Don't know where you guys get the idea go Knysna to CT.That route will never ever happen again.Insiders say too many bridges were burnt with the farmers in the first few epics ,so access to that route will never happen.
  15. Just make sure your slime is alright, lotsa thorns in the car park at the start.
  16. Sorry a bit off topic but thinking of installing those outside beams and looking for advice. What works, what is a waste of time?
  17. I looked into this and weight wise you will save around 120-140g over XX but you will loose some gearing at the top or bottom depending on chainring you use.If i was only doing lap racing this would be fine but i ride to the trail often as well as do longer or multi day events where the xx1 will be useless to me.Individual parts are available with the whole groupset costing around 10K no brakes.I cant find a hub body for sale yet so having a groupset now will be useless anyway.(You need to replace your body to acomodate the 10 tooth.)So i've left that thought for now as it is just a impractical groupset.Maybe just for lap racing or all mountain.
  18. Just want to let the fellow hubbers know of the passing of John Simpson this morning. He will be well kown to the masters who race, especially around Cape Town.John raced for many years until his first heart attack and bypass. He will be missed by all.Thoughts go to his wife and children at this moment. RIP John.
  19. Yep,bought a few things from Dominic now and been VERY happy.Honest guy who even delivered personally to my house.Go for it is all i can say.
  20. Had a few of them,as said best 29er HT on the market.Sold mine on the hub for 10K.Went in 2hrs.New frame and fork going to cost 30K.
  21. Looks great but don't think aplication will go past lap racing.Depending what blade you put up front you will loose too much at the top or the bottom of thr gearing.
  22. I'm waiting for a answer to this as well. This is great.I can lie on the couch pop some caffeine or run some adrenaline or any or thing that can effect my HR and still have some good power numbers without even getting off the couch.
  23. How tall are you?Might have a second hand frame for you in a M if you are interrested.
  24. Has the 2013 tallboy got a 142 rear axel?
  25. All is not pointless, remember 10 years ago there was no test for epo ,if you were above 50% you were presumed to be on something.3 years ago there was no test for cera and they also only now have a way of testing for actovegin. With all these new test it makes me wonder why LA is soooo opposed to them retesting his blood and urine from 10 years ago.
