  1. Yes done it in the rain and it gets muddy in parts, can be slippery but still some of the best MTB'ing fun you will ever have!
  2. I would like to be able to select multiple Areas when looking in the For Sale section. Just make it a checkbox selection like most of the other options
  3. A short breakdown, Once you reach your goal for the week any further KM's for that week do not carry over. If you havent reached your goal for the week and go into the new week any KM's that have not been reset from the week where you did not reach 100KM's will be carried over into the new week. On a different note, does anyone have a good app to use for speed limits. What ever Discovery uses and the speed limits on the road are so out of tune it isnt even funny and there are just 1000's of missing speed limit signs. In order to reach my goal I have to travel one section at 60km/h when the speed limit sign clearly states 80..... Told them many times about it but they do nothing. IMHO if they want us to follow speed limits then they should develop their own app to assist with driving that gives you the limits. But anyway, takes me 1 trip to work to get my goal for the week and then I can hammer it around the rest of the time
  4. Neo 2 FTW! Cannot fault the unit it is so easy to set up/pack away and with there being no need for power it has been an absolute winner during load shedding. Put the bike outside on my patio and go for a spin while everyone else sits in the dark... You could even take it to races for a pre warm up ride if you wanted to.... Im not that serious however I havent experienced any slip but I keep it up to date with any software upgrades which are a breeze to do. Integrates with all the apps etc, used zwift, rouvy and trainer road and very easy to set up. I like the "flex" while riding just seems to give a better overall feel.
  5. It is still a minimum of 1 cup of coffee every week. You will get 100 miles for reaching your goal and 1 pick on the board which is a minimum of 50 miles, so minimum per week will always be 150 miles = 1 coffee Saying that they still far to generous!! Max miles on my board was 90 ????‍♂️
  6. As much as I like Fumic and Avancini I think it will be a big ask. I think Fumic is past his best... Would love to be proven wrong

    Cricket......

And there she blows.... no chance on holding on from here!
  8. Yes definitely talking going lithium batteries here, going for the other batteries just doesnt make sense. Maybe cheaper at the start but works out for more expensive in the long run. Im also not talking about going completely off grid here but you would definitely have enough to power your home 90% of the time and when you want to use that heater and kettle and toaster etc you can always still draw power from the grid.... if its available.
  9. It seems costly to go off the grid when you look at the cost of installation. Lets say R200 - R300k depending on the size of your system. If you take this amount and add it to you bond over 20 years and compare what you are paying monthly to Eishkom it works out at pretty much the same cost, provided you own your own home of course...... The upside is you no longer have to put up with their crap loadshedding and price increases every year so you know what you are in for in the long term. Yes you might have to do maintenance and possibly replace solar panels and batteries after 20 years but the technology is only getting better and cheaper. So if you save the extra money you would have paid eishkom in price increases over that 20 years to renew your system/perform maintenance will cost far less in the end and you have no agro.
  10. I am so over momentum, I gave up on trying to reach private club last year its just an absolute mission every year and will just be cancelling all policies remaining with them and moving them across to discovery. Discovery I usually have 90% of my points by mid year and thats only because I wait till the end of year to get the health checks etc done to see if I really need them for the points. I use discovery for most things anyway but thought it would be good to "diversify". Used to be nice with all the vouchers etc but now all the ones I used to make use of have disappeared.
  11. It would be great if you could pin topics to a favourites menu! I have certain topics that I browse regularly and they are all "current" so used to be easy to find but now I find it cumbersome to try navigate and find them, especially in classifieds I barely look at classifieds anymore, really quite painful getting around and having to apply the same filters every time, I like looking at MTB just for MTB or road just for road
  12. Had an absolute blast from CL. Great race and very well organised. Motorcycle marshal was awesome and kept us safe and directed us brilliantly around the city. Having never done Tom Jenkins it was a bit of a wake up call but coped in the end but the bunch finally pulled away at this point! Definitely be back, the entertainment area at the monument looked great but I didnt hang around other than grabbing a quick coffee. Parking was brilliant as well as getting in and out but please dont compare 2000 odd riders to the 25k+ that will be at 94.7 If this race had those numbers it would be chaos because there are far too few access points....
  13. Its not just championchip, Racetec wont do it either and to be honest its understandable. All your past results are linked to that chip. I have multiples of both chips lying around and nothing can be done with them but at least I have a spare when I cant find one......
  14. Ageist not, I am also no spring chicken. My comment was merely that it has given many older guys the freedom to explore the mountains and trails they are not accustomed to. They also end up riding with guys who are probably a lot more advanced and feel they can "keep up" going well beyond their limitations. I have paid my school fees but I did it when I was a lot younger and could probably heal better and faster and I am now only too aware of my limitations. And sadly I still pay school fees on far to regular an occasion.... An e-bike will definitely come in handy when the legs have failed me but hopefully with an e-bike I will also understand my limitations having been riding for many years beforehand which some of these guys haven't done... a mere observation, ageist most certainly not....
  15. The sad part about this is all the 60+ year olds who now think they can still race the trails like a 20 something year old and dont have the skills or reaction speed anymore. Know of 3 old timers who have done themselves serious damage in the past month having purchased an ebike and now doing trails they cant really cope with. Broken clavicles, ribs, etc...
  16. Looking forward to this one! Just hope I have done enough training after having to take December off!
  17. Someone tell RDK to fix his route!!!!!
  18. Colins turned! Awesome that he picked up the navigation error!
  19. RIP Barry! Condolences to friends and family. A terrible loss of a great person!
  20. Robyn is riding with Sabine Spitz this year and not Stenerhag. I think Robyn has the edge over the rest at the moment and we will have to wait and see what Sabine can bring to the party.
  21. Got 2 Discovery vitality vouchers expiring today pm me if interested
  22. Hi Myles, Thanks for the answer, do you need a pass for these areas, green belts, Hout Bay and Black hill or can I just go riding? Is there anywhere I can find a map or something of these trails? I found something on tablemountain website but it doesnt have downloadable GPX files.
  23. Need some help here! I am staying in Tokai visiting my folks and was hoping to do some riding while down here. Only see now that the trails in Tokai are closed. Can you guys suggest anywhere else I can go out and get in a few trails that is close to Tokai?
