  1. Now you guys just need to come ride some KZN trails... You know there is a spare room available and PLENTY of great trails
  2. Sorry I didn't pick up on this reply earlier... 26" is a tough one, so we're currently bringing in Minion DHF in 2.5" for the diehard DH guys as well as the Ardent 2.4" for the trail guys. I've had a few people asking for something in-between those two, and will certainly look at it on our next order. The biggest challenge here is not MOQ (though that obviously is something to consider) but actually lead-time (probably 120 days from order to in-store availability) as well as getting the word out. Unfortunately, retailers, like all of us, stick with what the know, so for the most part its up to the consumer to do the digging and work WITH their local bike store (who they have a relationship with) to ensure that they are getting the product they want / need, or at least feeding it back up the chain
  3. Don't underestimate longer, lower and slacker for marathon... test one (properly) before you cast your final judgement on that one. The "perception" of feeling slower on the trail may actually surprise you in cold hard facts. Not to say that there isn't room for improvement or expansion in the product range
  4. Yep, I was actually going to pick up on this, but didn't want to troll... I don't think the Maxxis DD is quite a "burly" (read heavy duty) as the Super Gravity. The DD is essentially a butyl insert that runs from the bead to where the tread starts, its sandwiched in-between two 120TPI pieces of canvas. This gives sidewall support and abrasion resistance while keeping weight reasonably low and still allowing for good compliance on the tread portion of the tyre.
  5. Just checking in, there is no DHF II, just Highroller II and DHR II. The current DHF is too good to change Typically in all of the "trail bike" sizes we're bringing in the 3C MaxxTerra compound which is the best compromise between performance / traction and endurance.
  6. Not that I'm biased or anything, but this has to be one of the best team videos for some time. Can't wait to see the chaos these goons get up to this year... I hope 'Sessy gets LOTS of champagne!!
  7. Thats a difficult one... this is my first 650B, and to be fair I'm super unfit and have only had 5 very short rides. I can tell you that it is incredibly surprising. Light, nimble, lively. The riding style, strengths and position are so completely different to a 29", especially something like the Wreckoning that just destroys anything you put in front of it. I think (for me anyway) you get lazy on a 29", its like free speed, as long as you stay off the brakes you don't really have to work the bike, it maintains its speed so well. The 650B on the other hand requires constant rider feedback, which sounds like a negative thing, but the catch is that it rewards you so greatly for it, that provided you have the fitness and strength to be "physical" all the time, I think it can be incredibly quick (and fun). I just need to build some serious strength endurance, and learn how to ride the small wheels. Maybe 26" for 2018...
  8. Its been a busy week, but yep, she is up and on sale: https://www.bikehub.co.za/index.php?app=hubmarket&module=core&do=view_item&item_id=227406&new=1
  9. As soon as she is washed and looking beautiful she will (unfortunately) be in the classifieds. She will be missed. I can now say that there is something truly special about 650B... more soon!
  10. Hi Jaco Not sure is this is the appropriate forum, but I see we received an email from you on the 5th of November which was replied to the same day. (I have just emailed you personally) As we mention on our website we have a strict policy whereby we do not supply directly to the public, we firmly believe the health of the industry, and the reputation of our brands is secured by the independent cycling dealers in South Africa, some 600 of which we supply on a daily basis. That being said, we also respect and admire entrepreneurs who are equipping themselves with the skills to offer a service which South African consumers (and their bikes) deserve, but as per my first point, we have a responsibility to both our existing customers, and the brands that we represent to ensure that we maintain a level of professionalism and transparency that ensure we are only trading with legitimate businesses, as at the end of the day we are a wholesaler first and foremost.
  11. Thanks for all of the positive comments guys! We're really excited for this new chapter. Bottom line is we're still focused on delivering the goods, quickly, reliably, and as economically as possible.
  12. As some of you guys guessed, this isn't a "Praxis" product, and as such isn't something that we are able to offer in the local market. We can certainly sort you out with chainrings
  13. Just wait... there is something coming to this thread...
  14. Saying this bike can't do something is blasphemy! It destroys anything in front of it!
  15. Just to jump on the badwagon... I'm selling an XL Following if anyone is interested? ... Wreckoning is calling!
  16. So flipping awesome to see this being done right here in SA!!
  17. I have and a Fatbar carbon... #justlyingaround
  18. You'll be surprised by Coolheat, they have a VERY slick and legitimate setup! We are far smaller by comparison, but we do our level best to ensure that things are as smooth and dialled as possible. And yes... the Evil is mine... ALL MINE!
  19. Kicking off the first North American round of the 2015 Enduro World Series, Crested Butte Colorado is perhaps the perfect venue, and certainly the epitome of mountain biking. With a population a little shy of 1500 people, the former coal mining town that is often referred to as the "last great Colorado ski town", is an absolute gem. Magnificent scenery and expanses spread out in every direction showcasing some of Colorado's most incredible visual offerings. Click here to view the article
  20. @the_odinson I hear you... this was actually a press release that we sent out to people across the cycling media. Sorry if you found it to be off-sides.
