  1. I am currently thinking about this too. My aim is more on the workshop side though. It's a long term plan so i'm more focused on building a clientele, the rest will follow. On the component side, I haven't thought about that as that is something that will follow after. The reason for doing so is purely because of the lack of service in Cape Town. I don't mind paying for a service, but the issue I have is when there's a problem after the service. If you have the time and capital, go for it.
  2. In our case it's linked to armed response which helps a lot. Silent trigger and they respond within minutes to do a full perimeter check. The moment any tampering occurs, they are dispatched.
  3. That's the problem, when the human touches, the fence should basically push him away. High voltage, low current situation. If said human gets injured or dies by touching the fence and you as owner do not have the correct paperwork on hand = K@kstraat vir jou.

  6. If you do not have a COC, you'll be on the wrong side of the law if and when someone gets hurt. As far as maintenance goes, just make sure there no trees or branches interfering with the fence. The plastic bits you can replace as needed. Try and identify a weak spot OR a spot where you would attempt to enter and raise it with a few lines. Lastly, link it up with arm response and you should not have any issues. As far as electricity usage, it's minimal and it will last much longer vs an alarm system on a back up battery.

  12. That could have been me, I have reported it multiple times, but the account was still active. I just told him once the bank verifies the funds, I will then release the bike to the first person at my door. He agreed to do payment the following day, have not heard of him since.
  13. I had trouble activating my third one too. The problem was the Credit card. If you have the Discovery card, you need to migrate it to Discovery Bank and then it will allow you to use the benefit.

  15. I think the issue is with the limit screws. If the limit was set correctly it would not have over shot the big cog.

  17. I too think the OP does not have insurance. No way anyone will go through all this to recover a loss if they had insurance, especially if it’s not your fault. Next time, read the terms and conditions before you sign. Also, get insurance, Cyclesure offers great service at a reasonable premium.

  21. With all the muggings and bike jacking happening lately, I decided to add a work horse to my stable. Picked up a bike in decent condition and decided to fully restore it. Shimano Sora 3 X 9 and it’s perfect! The SSE got nothing on this beauty.
