  1. I did it in 6 months. Beat that suckers!!!!! Hahahahaha. I guess some of us are just a bit slower hey..
  2. Yep. I used one of those and still have the 460 version of it. The one in the image cost 60k in 1996 and produced a 1.4 MP image. No lcd and a battery that lasted about 12 frames.
  3. A very arb info graphic. In 1994 Kodak launched a range of 3 digital cameras. DCS 420. DCS 460. DCS 465 which was a digital back for a Blad. They were the first successful instant capture digital cameras. Successful as in many commercial photographers jumped to digital with them and made a good living. Not even mentioned in this info graphic.
  4. Hermanus
  5. Didn't even know such a thing existed but I see the need for it.
  6. Thank goodness. I was starting to worry a bit. Such a great team. Such a great story.
  7. Amazed no one has mentioned Tony Impey. Ex pro cyclist who has a shop in Bedfordview. Been going to him for 19 years. Consistently great service. A massive fund of knowledge. He still personally test rides every bike that is serviced around the parking lot. Not to mention his son Daryl rides for Green Edge and has done very well over the years despite some awful accidents. A family run business and a cycling family. Tony is a hard man on a bike.
  8. Feel free to ignore this or flame me. I will totally understand I read about a drink becoming popular in the States in the coffee places like Seattle. I gave it a try and really liked it. I don't drink so it's a kind of virgin cocktail thing. Fill a tall glass with ice. Add tonic water with a little space left over and pour a chilled double shot of espresso into it.
  9. The meaning of this phrase is when there is a rumor of wrongdoing then there must be something behind it. It cannot refer to the syringe as that is not a rumor that is fact. If this phrase was meant to refer to the syringe then what is being said is; if a syringe was actually found then there was actually a syringe. Oh forget about it......
  10. This always comes up and it makes me batty. I don't mean to pick on you Scott5 but think about this a little and you will have to admit it's about the most useless statement you can make. I will give you an example. I can say that Scott5 is a plonker of note (keep calm now, I'm just using this as an example). Someone then comes along and says yes they agree. You then say you are not a plonker at all. But hey, where there is smoke there is fire and you are now officially screwed. It is intellectually lazy and if taken to its logical extreme all it will take is to lay a charge against someone and he must go to jail. Where there is smoke as an argument makes anyone accused of anything by anyone at any time automatically guilty. It's what leads to mindless persecution, lynchings, which burnings and all sorts of other mindless behavior I guess that was a rant
  11. Sold it on to a friend before I even paid for it. I knew he was looking for a good grinder so he got a real deal.
  12. Just bought a Simonelli MDX grinder from Cash Convertors at Park Meadows. Brand new, never used, still in plastic, with the warranty card. I paid 10k for an identical grinder two years ago. This one was R1500.
  13. Did your camera break? More pictures please. Are they set up yet?
  14. One bike is a ride. Two bikes is a race. Thirty five thousand bikes is a flipping big race.
  15. Mine is now sorted. Well so it seems. Took over a month and 5 trips in to the importers but it's finally done. I hope you don't have to go through as much difficulty as I did.
  16. Oscar back after the fourth or fifth time after a botched service. Now I'm told they were putting in the incorrect element. Funny but that's what my gut feeling was from the start and I even suggested it to them. I'm not sure it's fixed but for now it's up and running. We will see. Thank you everyone for the ongoing assistance and advice while this was going on. V12 I am still planning on buying the Linea Mini at the end of the year. Would love to bother you for a lesson or two at some point if that's OK. Once again thanks all.
  17. Imagine a family from Gauteng all want to enter and one of them doesn't get lucky in the lottery. Be a bit annoying really. I think I will skip it, again.
  18. You can start right here with this thread. You can try Google. Just search Banting. Also try searching Low Carb High Fat Diet. Noakes' new book is also a good resource. Amazon has lots of books if you want to go that right. Low carb living and so on. Info is easy to find. Clarity not so much. As always get a medical check up before doing anything odd. But then again, our modern diet is pretty odd to start with and we never got any medical advice for that now did we?
  19. I am also after the Linea Mini. End of the year I hope to buy one. Have you any indications of price?
  20. Honestly I don't like its looks at all. Glass sides doesn't work for me. It's just visual clutter. As for its specs I'm totally not qualified to say.
  21. My ex broke her pelvis on a road ride. She was riding again after 5 weeks. Said it was OK. Guess it depends on severity.
  22. Multiple rib fractures, fractured pelvis and internal injuries. Will require surgery but it seems only after a period that allows stabilization of injuries. Insane accident. Thank goodness he is conscious and has no head injuries. Too many cars around but the riders have a fit if they have to wait very long for a mechanical so I don't know what the solution to this might be.
  23. And the artificial sweeteners taste like hell anyway. I suppose it's all about the insulin response that occurs wether it's a natural sugar or an artificial sweetener. As you say. Best to avoid
  24. I didn't yet but I'm expecting 50 to 60 K. The Linea Mini you mean?
