  1. I was going to suggest the same, but see that they no longer distribute in SA. They had a big sale last month. Now I know why... https://www.4iiii.co.za/ Maybe still available in bike shops though... (Bike Addict lists them, but we know that they order from the distributor when you place your order)
  2. Fascinating topic ! Are aero socks better than shaved legs ? I have neither, so am asking for a friend...
  3. Has anyone had dealings with them recently ? I ordered an item which I would like to query, but can't get a response via phone or email listed on their website. Does anyone have different contact details ? Thanks in advance
  4. Please add me to the list to make it /7
  5. Are you willing to use BikeHubPay ?
  6. BTCHN ! https://bikerumor.com/the-btchn-bikes-brings-drop-bar-32er-to-made-and-blows-us-away/
  7. Iconic
  8. Dredging this post up from the depths of the archives... Has anyone had experience with Hunt wheels ? There seem to be very mixed reviews out there. Are they just well marketed re-branded Chinese rims with Novatec hubs? Are they better (or worse) than that ? I am looking at the 25 Carbon Gravel X-Wide wheels. https://www.huntbikewheels.cc/products/hunt-25-carbon-gravel-race-x-wide-wheelset?variant=52749738443124 I like the 27mm internal width, 28 spokes and generous weight limit. What alternatives are there out there? The Reserve 40|44 Gravel wheels look beautiful, but that price is a tad eye watering. Not that these Hunts are particularly cheap...
  9. And fairings on the forks With some commentary on avg speed since introducing drop bars: https://velo.outsideonline.com/gravel/gravel-gear/rockshox-aero-suspension-fork-prototype-leadville-trail-100-mtb/
  10. I am sad that your trip is over, Your photos have been amazing ! Looking forward to the next one
  11. What sort of budget are you looking at ? Building a bike is fun, and you get exactly what you want. Not the most cost effective route though. Apart from tyre width, there is also the gearing rabbit hole. 1x vs 2x etc. Cost sensitivity may affect you choices here. These bikes would be on the top of my list if I was starting again: Giant Revolt (reasonable price range, but stock may be an issue) Santa Cruz Stigmata (pricey, but not sure who has what stock) Specialized Diverge (reasonable price range, but stock is an issue) Scott Addict (reasonable price range, but stock may be an issue) Curve Kevin 4 (titanium) Litespeed (if you were feeling exotic) Titan Switch (to support local...)
  12. Have a scroll through these threads:
  13. Wasn't this always more of a mountain bike race, than a gravel orientated event?
  14. Nice ride from Kate Courtney as well, especially after breaking her wrist a short while ago.
  15. This has turned into Moer Mekaar Friday, but its a few days early Lets not turn on each other. We have enough issues and enough 'enemies'. Cyclists bad riding habits isn't winning us any friends on the road or on Social Media. But that behavior is not what is taking lives... Doors and Muggers and Busses and Drunk Drivers have done a lot of damage lately. But somehow, they aren't the bad guys on Facebook.
  16. The only gravel tyre that I have ever used is the Pirelli Cinturato Gravel Hard (45mm). If my bike could take the width, I would run the 50mm. I haven't ever felt that I wanted more (or less) from another tyre, so haven't tired anything else. There are lots of choices out there, so I sure that you will get lots of other suggestions. Perhaps not many in 50mm though. Panaracer has a few 50mm. Specialized has a 47mm Path Finder. Tufo has a 48mm Thudero. Of course, stock is always an issue. What bike do you have ?
  17. I am struggling to place that. Where in Tokai is that ? Does this mean that its closed again ?
  18. And if/when you do find it, be careful when eating the cookies...
  19. But are you uncomfortable on your full suspension bike ? Do you feel more confident on your hard tail ? These are OP's issues
  20. I have ordered most of my Garmin and Oakley stuff from them. They are 100% legit. Good experience
  21. That's unusual. Normally, its the other way around. What is uncomfortable about the DS ? Is it a sizing and set-up issue ?
  22. Also Church Street is active again
  23. If its the same one that I heard about, they only took the phone. Victim has a laundry list of injuries. Hectic !
  24. In light of the above posts, this is strange: https://bikerumor.com/yt-bikes-is-back-on-the-hunt-with-the-all-new-decoy-emtb/
