  1. Waambulance ? 🤡
  2. We called that the Tour de Air Fryer Our brains were baked from Roberston circle, so people stopped communicating and then we couldn't remember where people were. So we went from a tight Marine Code to absolute Pirate Code and had to wait 20 mins on the line for the last two (who we thought that we were chasing, but we had actually left them behind at the Drew Coke stand). We got our Charles Milner medal, but it was a bit anti climactic... Another adventure for the books though. #19 for me.

  4. And then...
  5. East City Cycles
  6. I must have tripped and fallen onto my keyboard, as these suddenly arrived. (Running the Gravel H 50mm on these bad boys)
  7. A quick browse reveals this from their specsheets: Giant Revolt - 53mm (Depending on flip chip) Trek Checkpoint Gen 3 - 50mm Specialized Diverge 4 - 50mm Curve Kevin 4 - 50mm Titan Switch - 50mm Cube NuRoad - 50mm Litespeed Flint - 54mm with 1x drivetrain (50mm with 2x) Santa Cruz Stigmata - 50mm Cannondale SuperX - 48/51mm Cervelo Aspero - 40mm All of the above could probably be pushed a bit more. Most of the above could probably fit a bigger tyre up front
  8. Do you know what fine or punishment is attached to transgressing that rule/law? Is that documented somewhere ? In a country where people don't pay their speeding fines, they will laugh at getting a fine from a close-pass. So, my feeling of that rear camera is that its a great idea for a 1st world law abiding country where there are consequences to breaking the law. But it would be a waste of time here in SA. Unless something actually happened, like you were rear ended in a hit-and-run, where lawyers could use that for prosecution. But then you may have to do a deep dive into what evidence is permissible in court.

I would also suggest Dynaplug, but haven't tried the Stan's Dart. What put me off the latter is the size. The Dynaplug replacements are not cheap and not always available, so its good to have in store for future use.
  10. This worked well for you. Congratulations on your race.

  13. Looks like a great build ! Carefully chosen components based on a lot of experience. But, based on that experience, why not a titanium Curve ?
  14. This headline slots right into this chat https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/campagnolos-new-super-record-13-ultra-groupset-is-evidence-that-luxury-neednt-make-sense/
  15. I thought that KTM's were the unit of measure in these conversations
  16. I was thinking the same, but maybe with the Italian in the chase group, the Dutch had make sure that it was one of them and not her.
  17. I am struggling to understand the part where Strava wants Garmin to stop selling devices. Can anyone explain that in simple terms? (You're welcome to use crayons...)
  18. I am not familiar with the Garmin light, but also have a Trek with Blendr mounts. If you dont come right with Garmin adapters, the Trek light would work nicely with the gopro mount (upside down) with this: https://www.trekbikes.com/za/en_ZA/equipment/bike-accessories/bike-lights/bike-light-accessories/bike-light-brackets-and-mounts/bontrager-blendr-universal-light-mount/p/26815/?colorCode=black https://www.trekbikes.com/za/en_ZA/equipment/bike-accessories/bike-lights/bike-front-lights/trek-ion-pro-rt-front-bike-light/p/41444/?colorCode=black
  19. Scott Addict (carbon) Gravel with 2x gearing and 45mm tyres sounds like a winner at that price
  20. Of the 4 on that list, I would probably suggest the Scott as its the newest. Is that an alu or carbon frame ? As stated elsewhere, the Domane isn't really a gravel bike by modern standards. The Specialized is old spec (tyre clearance) And I don't know much about the Merida, but I imagine that it can't take 45mm tyres which should be the minimum in my opinion. What is your budget ?
  21. I learned this today. 4iiii has a new distributor in SA: https://fwdistribution.co.za/collections/power-meters
  22. These are going on my bike when I build it https://evobikes.co.za/product/pirelli-cinturato-gravel-h-classic-700-x-50c/?srsltid=AfmBOoqu8QG06JAkXZTCo20T6kMRhRO7Y_6o7Jx4Qu07-G_anxPXT65m
  23. I have a pair like that - lovely wheels !
