  2. Which DT Swiss wheels are you looking at ?
  3. I just had a wheelset built up with Pro 5's and Race Race ARC 30 (alu) rims. DT Swiss spokes seem to be in short supply, so went with double butted Pillar spokes and brass nipples. That rear hub sounds so good!
  4. Dont write him off ! He's not done just yet ... https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/chris-froome-warms-to-disc-brakes-fixes-back-finds-new-motivation-for-2024/
  5. Not as much as Peter Sagan hates his... https://www.facebook.com/PeterSagan/videos/making-sure-my-specialized-bicycles-beauty-is-fresh-and-clean-before-we-fly-to-u/567100744916504/
  6. Didn't go anywhere today as this is what happening in the Western Cape (Bot River Bridge - not my picture)
  7. You might be able to get a carbon specialist to wrap your frame. Or maybe you get a vinyl wrap like they do for cars. That probably wont be quite as robust though.
  8. You're not the only one who feels like that https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cv_I9CoOVJz
  9. It also depends on where you are - long open quiet road with hardly anyone around may deserve acknowledgment of the other cyclist. Main Rd between Lakeside and Fish Hoek on a Saturday morning ? I would get carpal tunnel syndrome if I was to wave at everyone I saw. But if you are mountain biking and come across other bikes where your bars are so close, you have to be careful not to crash into each other - a howzit just seems polite. If you want to meet unfriendly MTB'ers, ride the Constantia greenbelts!
  10. I just got it back from the shop after being cleaned and 'once overed', so I need to take proper measurements as it doesn't seem to be printed on the frame. But its about 55mm (centre to top and about the same horizontal top tube) Gruppo is Campy Veloce / Record 10spd Price is negotiable
  11. And then what are you going to do with your fully rigid hard tail (90's MTB)? Cross Country and Marathon races? Munga? Freedom Challenge? Gravel races? Or touring / bike packing ? What gears are you running ? That is probably more important than your very aggressive bar and stem set up.
  12. I've never smelt Ass Magic, so cant compare. (I also don't like the idea of double dipping in a tub) R120 @ Dischem and Sportsman's Warehouse
  13. I am selling this C40 for a friend (I have sent it off for a once over at the LBS, so will update the advert with better pics and specs) That stem also needs to be flipped!
  14. I don't know the whole story well enough, but maybe those people feel that their lives were negatively impacted (ruined) enough to not be able to forget and put this behind them (to forgive, is another story). There is quite a list of people who got trampled. I agree. its all quite sad. The before, the during and the afters.
  15. Makro is a bit light on detail. (I remember they stocked a few Cannondales a few years ago) From the grainy picture, I see that Fox Factory forks are included (Kashima) 🤣
  16. I am surprised that you weren't answered with a barrage of swear words and zap signs. That is the usual response in those situations.
  17. I see that this thread goes back to 2016 with the same theme. Its the usual strength in numbers / mob mentality that many groups seem to adopt. Bikers, runners, people on the internet etc. Common sense seems to dissolve a bit. And then there are a few Alphas that behave worse than everyone else and give the whole bunch a bad name. Cyclelab does seems to attract a 'Love to Hate' vibe though. Both the shop and the club.
  18. Has anyone contacted Cyclelab themselves and asked for comment ? Surely someone is answerable ? This is where riding with a Go-Pro makes sense
  19. I am not an Epic rider, so cant comment on the route except that those numbers scare me. Short'ish days with crazy vert. Tough for the sake of being tough routes ? Not for me, thanks
  20. 52/36 and 11/30 cassette (if your rear mech can handle that) That is what most (Shimano) bikes are coming out with these days. Sram has different ideas on chainrings and cassette ratios. But, like it says higher up, what sort of riding are you doing? Massive alpine days probably require 50/34 chainrings with a big cassette. Are you running 165mm crank arms ?
  21. I am not technically clever enough to comment. (but they look terrible) And they are IS mount. More comments here: https://www.mtbr.com/threads/gatorbrake-8-piston-dh-brake-wowzerz.247305/page-2
  22. I had a similar issue, so did this after riding in the rain and then rinsing the bike. But then I put the battery in the wrong way around, so it still didn't read anything. Naturally, I thought that the unit was knackered and was making preparations to send it back when I thought that I would have another look at it. Battery back in the correct way around and voila! I should post that in the own mechanic thread 🤣
