  1. Hi Matt If you are still adding features or making changes, can I ask that you increase the number of options for frame size ? Many manufacturers supply their bikes in XS, S, M, ML, L, XL etc. People then struggle to equate a Small or a Med to a 50, 52 or 54 (because they might measure seat tube length rather than top tube length etc). This leads to confusion and incorrectly advertised bikes and frames. I think that this is more relevant to road and gravel, than to MTB. Thanks
  2. I would say that it would be better to build up some good tools over time. https://road.cc/content/buyers-guide/beginners-guide-bike-tools-207824 Cheap tools don't last and they can damage your bike (round off bolts etc). Those tool kits seem like a great idea, but you quickly realise that they are not. It would also be interesting to see how many of the tools in the kit you would not use. R6000 vs R800 (they are both on the extreme ends the range) https://www.takealot.com/park-tool-ak-5-advanced-mechanic-tool-selection/PLID72176244 https://www.takealot.com/bike-repair-tool-kit-set-44-parts/PLID70519410 A big issue (around the work) that will affect your choice, is the availability of the bits and pieces that you want. So you may end up with a few cheapies to fill some gaps
  3. Remember, this is the UK. There are no security guards. Just cameras, so they wear hoodies and masks. Cops come within a few minutes, but these guys are gone already. Usually on scooters, so they disappear into the traffic. Hoot at him ? And then ? Damage your car for someone else? You will have an interesting time with your insurance... Remember, this is the UK, so everyone has rights and you can't be a vigilante. I get your anger and frustration, but this is how 1st world countries seem to be evolving. So many rules, but seemingly not enough action any more. This sort of (petty) theft is on the rise and the police are under resourced and overrun with not enough support from government. There used to be respect for the law and the police in the UK.
  4. This is the UK. Crime is on the rise, criminals are brazen and people seem powerless. A whole social decay thing that is rapidly spiralling out of control. Comments on the UK cycling websites are interesting. https://road.cc/content/news/thieves-use-angle-grinder-take-trek-bicycle-287619 Edit: Thieves don't care and onlookers aren't going to risk themselves from someone else's bike. 20 000 bikes are stolen per year. People have resigned themselves to the crime and and it seems to have got to the point where its your fault if your bike is stolen - Your lock isn't strong enough. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9273623/Moment-brazen-bike-thief-uses-ANGLE-GRINDER-cut-security-lock.html
  5. What coffee/beans does he use ?
  6. You are right. I am too heavy for them. I suppose that I was hoping that the MK4's would be a bit more robust as I was considering them for a gravel bike build with some Hope RS4 hubs. They are no longer on my radar
  7. That would be the Arch or the Flow But the Crest being punted as a good rim for gravel bikes is silly (if it has that weight limit) Almost as silly than the Crest rim being used for XC ????
  8. I am interested to hear and see how the Crest MK4 rims would turn out for gravel bike wheels. According to the Stans website, the wheelset still has a weight limit of 86kg which is really quite light (in my opinion). That doesn't seem any better than the previous version. https://www.notubes.com/crest-mk4-wheelset
  9. So, what was the reaction from the runners when you (politely) told them that they should be running on the dedicated single tracks ?
  10. Ye Olde Uber Eats
  11. I have done 3 Amazon orders and one from Merlin, but definitely less than R50k in total. No issues from SARS, but I don't want to pop up on their radar... Has anyone imported Shimano goods from SJS Cycles ? They have a massive range of spares over and above the usual components, but I don't know if they are geo-blocked. Of course, stock is a problem around the world but they look like a useful retailer. https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/
  12. I would have thought that with all the Covid stuff (hand sanitisers etc.) that tummy bugs would be reduced
  13. We all know which is the business end and where the party is at, but what is the correct pronunciation ? Is it: Mullit ? Or a slightly more cosmopolitan flare: Mullay (like duvet or ballet) ????
  14. Are these lockrings for Shimano disc brakes available separately? The usually come packaged with the rotor, but I need a set on their own… They are going on 12mm axle wheels, so I think that I can probably use the internal spline type on the RHS.
  15. There is also the opposite scenario, where sellers post an advert and then don't respond. No number is attached to this particular seller, so it's messenger only. I see that they have been online several times since I sent my message.
  16. Were the Cannondale boys not successful with Uswe
  17. Does anyone know if there is a live tracker option rather than a live YouTube feed? Keen to follow the race, but can't actually watch it live. Apparently, I have to actually do some work...
  18. Looks very interesting I wonder if that is actually a good titanium bike, or titanium for the sake of it. Either way, that's a good price!
  19. If there was perhaps a Cape Town group order brewing, I have one item that I am interested in.
  20. He takes himself a bit seriously. I think that Ozzyman needs to have a go at him https://www.instagram.com/jeremysantucci/
  21. Two seperate incidents with similar modus operandi The other incident:
  22. Loving that green, yellow and tan combo. What size tyres did you put on there ? How will that leather saddle hold up over time in the wet weather ? I am looking around a Cambium saddle, which is supposedly All Weather (and tougher than I am)
  23. splat

    Who remembers?

Was this rear suspension (Torsion Spring) the forefather to Specialized Epic rear suspension ? Not sure if that should be in sartalics or not...
  24. I am more scared of my wife than SARS. Even though I buy her stuff too...
