  1. Are there any Redshift ShockStop stems floating around ? I am (tentatively) looking for a 90mm
  2. Very nice What bar tape is that ? Now for some brown sidewall tyres... What Brooks saddle were you using ?
  3. It's a more fluid situation
  4. In terms of teams finishing yesterday vs prologue - about 30% drop out. 520 down to 359 (That's teams. I didn't count individual finishers)
  5. Yep. the stories did diverge towards the end. Similar in that they were personal journeys or battles set in a backdrop of an alien invasion. Or was it the other way around, with an alien invasion set among the stories of a few people an their personal journey or battle? But very nicely done and I am looking forward to season 2 (and hope they wrap it up there).
  6. I would imagine that the 3kg limit refers to the 'Multi Purpose Mounts' down the sides. The racks are mounted at the bottom of the forks and surely those have a different limit ?
  7. Has anyone watched Invasion ? I searched here and couldn't find a reference. So far, it seems very similar to the 2019 Euro 'War of the Worlds' series.
  8. Lovely video - that bike is a work of art. But... Why didn't he trim the seatpost? It seemed way longer than min. insertion
  9. 7 Muggers ? That's crazy! Sorry to hear that - it must have been quite an ordeal! I hope that there were no injuries to the rider. Was this a group of riders ?
  10. Curve GRX Dave builds his frames around the Columbus fork, but there were none available. Luckily, he had Benky on speed dial and one was sent down only to discover that its 18mm taller. Dave, being Dave, shortened the headtube and jiggled things around a bit to make it work. As far as forks go, its a stunning piece of kit.
  11. I wonder how many of those spares he used on today's 'technical difficulty'
  12. The build pics weren't that awesome, but the (almost) final product came out quite well. If I do say so myself... It needs a few test rides to sort things out, like bar stem and saddle. They are all a bit wonky to start with. I really enjoyed the build. It was a good way to get to know all the bits. Brakes probably need to be bled after I fiddled with hose length and the bar tape is an abomination. I was nervous of stripping the BB thread and I know that I definitely cross threaded the rear axle. The rest seemed OK with the help of the Shimano tech docs and YouTube. Not bad for the first time at building a bike from scratch.
  13. I found it here on BikeHub and bought it because it was brown to go with the tyres etc.
  14. Like thebob says, your decision will ultimately be made by what's actually available vs. your budget at the time. Stock of bikes and parts is very low around the world. This is very frustrating when all the marketing engines are at full speed, but not much is actually available. If you didn't buy a full bike, you could get a frame and piece it together if you werent in a rush. But you would still be facing the same challenges re. stock. If you were resourceful, you could do some shopping around overseas. Canyon has that Grizl for example. What sort of budget are you looking at ?
  15. It happens in Europe from time to time. The team truck is broken into and cleaned out. I don't know what the modus operandi was here, but I imagine that all the bikes were stored in one place and just loaded on a truck and driven off. If it's from a guest farm, the chances are high that it was a tip-off or inside job. Someone must know something... I hope the bikes are recovered unscathed and culprits brought to book ASAP!
  16. David has a 'Signature Series' frame with his geometry set in various sizes and then his full custom bike with your geometry. Mine is the former in a small, which I haven't test ridden, so I am very interested to see how it works for me. Either has various options in terms of the welds, internal cable routing, badges, mount points, paint work etc. Dealing with him was a great experience. The whole process was very pleasant and we spent ages talking about options and geometry and comparing against other brands (vs my own road bike and gravel bikes that I had test ridden). He was very patient with my silly questions, kept me updated with the progress and sent photos along the way. I phoned him to ask price, was pleasantly surprised and things progressed quickly from there. Give him a buzz, and before you know it you will be posting your pics here.
  17. It's a Charge Spoon, but will most likely be replaced by a Brooks C15 carved. I will double wrap the tops. But I am worried that the Deda tape will be too short on the 46cm wide flare bars + double wrap.
  18. Smooth ground (deluxe) welds with Midnight Pearl powder coat Internal routing for the rear brake with external mounts for the gear cables Flat mount disc (I need an adapter to run a 160 rotor) 3 x bottle mounting points with a top tube mount Front mech tab and a spare hanger
  19. As boasted on the other thread, I collected this beauty from David yesterday. Now to try and get it built up by the weekend...
  20. I collected this thing of beauty from David yesterday. Great workmanship and attention to detail! (more pics on the gravel thread in due course)
  21. Hi Marc The gravel wheels on a Specialized Diverge - do you know what hubs they use ? I see that they are G540 rims. And what sort of weight limit would there be on those 24 spoke wheels ? How would they compare to the DT Swiss G 1800 wheels ? I am a fairly solid 95kg, so am always concerned about that... So, I was thinking of going 28 hole hubs with your GR 531 rims, but you only seem to have them in 24 hole configuration.
  22. Very clever and a tad more cost effective than the Park Tool equivalent https://www.parktool.com/product/dummy-fork-df-1?category=Frame %26 Fork
  23. It was a beautiful morning I wish that we were able to say the same tomorrow afternoon...
  24. Wow, that was hard work. But I couldn't stop watching it. Like a very slow motion train wreck. Heavy and intense with a lot of damage and chaos. Also, a father of 2 teenagers, I found that scary (because it's so real!)
  25. Don't forget the sponsorships and endorsements that come with winning races
