  1. I was at 118kg and 1.75 when I started riding....just get a strong bike with strong wheels. Set yourself goals as to when you will up grade. For you, something like "at 90 kg I will get a carbon frame" although most components except lightweight wheels will carry you fine enough. Fitnees and hills are your nemesis now, unless you are on the down part of the hill
  2. Uhm....riiiiight Nothing gets by this one
  3. We do have a few customs officials on The Hub, so if you want to see your brakes in the next few months I would suggest you dial back your tone and insults.
  4. Get hold of Azonic...he has some or other chinese web store that sell disc friendly road frames. There is also some manufacturers that make hydraulic road brakes... If I had the cash I would do it.
  5. 28c tyres have been shown to be more comfortable Having the 35 to 42 width cyclocross tyres on a road bike used for commuting does make sense, they do take more punch and will not be destroyed as easily by potholes.
  6. Sharp mate...very sharp
  7. That is nice!! Do yourself a favour and try out a Black Panther walnut snare, heard one this past week. It sounds great....and does so at a lot of tensions too
  8. . We play them for their tone...once you get past the brand names I sold a Takamine and kept a Cort because the Cort sounds so full. As a sound engineer i can tell emphatically that I look forward to mixing a Les Paul, or a PRS. There is just so much tone and presence That, Mr Crow, is a nice kit. Love the HHX series, again, for their full resonant tone. Glad to see you refrained from the the little 3 x 13 snare everybody seems to buy, but rather went for the fuller effects snare. . I have a regular drummer that insist on using a 3x13 as his main snare....I hate that sound with a passion.
  9. What size do you have...mine is one size too big for me, I have a 54, should be a 52 as i am reaching too much and getting sore shoulder muscles. Sorted it out on the MTB with a shorter stem
  10. I see a Pearl Vison VBX in harvest fade finish, The dark blue with silver seems to be a classic Tama kit. The turquoise kit looks like a Ludwig jazz kit, the silver is a jazz kit (smaller dia kick drum). The black could be Sonor, it is a fairly entry level kit looking at the hardware. I will miss every note if she was my drummer....
  11. Train harder I did the sum total of 120km of riding after eight months off the bike and I finished the old route. I am riding far more now, and yes, I will not win it, but I will finish. Doesn't matter if it is 1367th or 803rd....ride the bugger as it is
  12. Stick a pool noodle between the bikes, will keep them well apart.
  13. Aye...but you have been sorting out a "pienkvoet", the stuff of heroes
  14. Paintball gun with solids or pepperballs?
  15. DaLoCo

    Formula 1...

I tend to agree with that.....the Williams had shown some remarkable pace in almost every race, but the drivers could not harness it for the whole duration. I would've pegged them 3rd or 4th in the championship.
  16. I am a wee bit fitter than the last time.... Can manage 25-30 at 16 km/h
  17. That place is teeming with healthy wildlife now. It kinda ruins the idea that the world will turn into a wasteland after a nuclear apocalypse.
  18. Yah...the wind was intense this morning. There is a gravel road that runs past the cemetary which joins the road you too when you turned off the Hdorp road, it joins just before the dip at Lombardini. Take that, turn right and ride up to the Hdorp road, turn around and enjoy the downhill, stop and watch some wildlife, turn right after the dip and ride to the St Francis road, turn around and head home downwind. Good for about 60-70 km and you are off the tar. I would love to go for longer rides with you, but 40-50 km slow km is my limit on a mtb for now. PM Raboebi, perhaps the two of you can go play.
  19. Most of the biking is fragemented in general...mostly 2 or 3 guys riding together. It is very safe to ride here so the groups are small. For road I usually ride out to Humansdorp and back, about 32 km with 250m climbing (two 80m in 1km climbs) if you turn around at Engen. If you want to go further you can either turn left towards St Francis for a fairly flat ride, or right towards Hankey. Hankey and back will be about 700m climbing (mostly three more climbs with flattish road in between) These roads all have 1,5m shoulders for cyclists to use, and I have yet to hear of a cyclist getting knocked. Holiday season is the scary part, as we now have to deal with all those guys you dodge every day....and we have been lulled into a sense of safety here You coming down for a bit?
  20. I was also referring to the ferris wheel scene....those russians just kept coming Pripyat....near Chernobyl.
  21. Not talking about his henchmen...dude. BTW....I hate dogs That extraction was one of the more intense parts though
  22. That's Pripyat, the town that was evacuated due to proximity. The wildlife there is apparently incredible because it is largely undisturbed. Oh...and I shot a terrorist there with a .50 cal
