Tried soapy water , left in the sun etc. Charles Key from Switchbacksports suggested a second layer of rim tape . Did that and voila !

Let me start out by saying I love them and get great service from the importers . But I seem to struggle way more than with other brands of tubeless tyres to get that first seating on the rim despite using all the known tricks. Anyone else ?

In about 2013 I bought a set of Stan’s Race Gold for my Cannondale Flash carbon . They were just over 1300g and is still running albeit with a spoke and nipple rebuild and bearing replacement after 40,000 km. I weigh 80 kg.

I have driven behind many many riders as a support driver over thousands of kilometers since about 1988. And I ride myself. And sorry to say but as soon as a butt touches a saddle the link to the self preservation part of the brain switches off . Obviously there are exceptions.
