  9. bla bla bla... marketing..... Somebody has to pay for the models... Go buy your assos!
  10. Maybe have a look at Vermarc. bought one of each to check them out: http://www.buycycle.co.za/index.php?dispatch=categories.view&category_id=1583 Both are awesome, just ordered another one of the relax this morning - gonna use them for the epic. I also have 3 sets of cape storm that goes for 500 or 600 bucks (Nitros I think). Gonna use them aswell on the shorter days The vermarcs are def better than the Cape Storms, even though I like them very much too. My experiece: You don't need anything better the cape storms- although someting better is nice. 90% of comfort is about saddle fit and avoiding chafing. Domething like Chamois Butter or Mark 2 Shammy cream works equeally well. Too be honest, I can't think that shorts can be any better than the R1100 Vermarc in terms if comfort. the Vermarc Red one looks awesome though. Spending R3000 on assos just sounds stupid to me. Stick with cape storm and if you really want to splurge because of a big multiday event etc spend a bit more. R3000 is just stupid for a pair of shorts. You are not getting any better quality, you are paying for marketing etc
  11. yeah I'm in. when do you want to do the first one?
  12. I got them because they were good value for money and colour fits perfectly with my bike. Suppose it is more of a performance wheelset than a training one. Use it fot both though. Don't put too much miles on them anyway since I do mostly do MTB. I don't see the problem in using them for training. It is not like a 20k uber racing wheelset and I believe you should enjoy your toys. Get a set. use them. once they are poegaai get something new - I do think they will last though. mine are giving no problems
  13. Hi, I bought a set December last year. They are awesome - no problems. Lightning fast. Got them since they are incredibly light and want to use them next year for Ironman as well since they have a kinda aero profile. Bought mine from buycycle.co.za
  14. 2 X10 X9 for sure
  15. If you want to do Cederberg... Check out http://www.cederbergexperience.co.za/index.htm Nuwerust rest camp. It is the family farm of my best varsity buddy. Not shure about the mtb, but should be pretty good. Awesome place though with amazing hiking trails. One of my fav places in the world.
  16. Ek is ook in.... enige tyd reg maar verkieslik nie later as 8
  17. This is why I don't mind paying 200 odd Rand for the MTB events that are well organised. Seems only the profesional event organisers can pull off events these days. CSA could not really loose anymore credibility in my books, but they just did. Shocking
  18. I lost one bottle with a stupid bottle cage. Fitted one of those Specialized one. Think it is called rib cage or something similiar. works better, otherwise get one of the cheap ones you can bend to snug the bottle very tightly
  19. Also using the Topeak one. Used it for a couple of races including Atta and Barberton. no problems. works perfectly
  20. I have flown with my mtb in a carton box (the kind you get from LBS for free) a couple of times no problem. Box always looks like it got handled rough, but bike fine. Have also flown with my roadbike just as a push on - no packaging or nothing about 5 times also no problems. They actually treat it with some respect etc instead of just bagage they can toss around. Think the soft case is prob safer than the carton box- they guys seem to be pretty carefull with stuff if they know it is valuable.

  22. I am looking at this to fly down to CPT for the Grape Escape.... oops: here is the link http://www.buycycle.co.za/buyparts/travel-cases/primal-wear/primal-wear-tura-soft-bike-bag-primal-wear.html
  23. Have used buycycle 3 times now allready. Everytime without problems...Was very happy with the service and prices. Personally I will def use them again. actually looking at the bike bag on special... Screwups are bound to happen every now and then. Hope you get your stuff sorted
  24. Looks like glad wrap
  25. No I did not yet do anything yet. Agree it might solve the problem, but my thinking was: if the wheel is mounted "flat" in the dropouts as previously and caliper did not move, there should be no friction and wheel should be fine as before Attekwas. I therefor thought that maybe something else also got damaged with the rim like the dropouts or axle as mentioned in Johan's reply.
