Just in case we missed something, I reviewed all the accounts that contacted you in March. There were 12 which is a great return on 3 adverts. One account was created today which is always a concern. We're investigating that one further. But no immediate red flags there. The other 11 accounts all appear to be legitimate. Three of the accounts were created in last few months but no obvious signs of fraud. One of them already has two good community reviews. The remaining eight accounts are years old. Most with good reviews from other Hubbers. Three of the accounts have over 100 reviews from the community with another having over 50 reviews.

Hi Morne1102 If you suspect a user is acting fraudulently, please report the account to us. There are report buttons on the user account pages and under the Actions button on the chat screen. It will be dealt with urgently. We're constantly monitoring for scammers and have number of automated systems in place to detect them. There a few new one's each day which we mostly mange to remove within minutes to a handful of hours. We also warn any user who has interacted with one of these accounts on the site. But we're pretty confident that the vast majority of the users are genuine. I'd confidently say that your 90% estimate is wrong.

That's an odd one. Can you post (or DM me) a screenshot, please? It could be a zoom setting on your browser. Is it zoomed out?

Start list says they kicked off at 7:45 today instead of 7:00. Is that usual for the last day? Or something to do with the conditions?

I've missed a turn, gone into the grass and wrapped a discarded fence wire around my cassette. My fault for not staying on the course. It can happen (to me) 🤦‍♂️ But yeah, in most other cases those pesky sticks that love to jam things up are not my fault.

Some riders choose to ride in a way that has a higher or lesser risk of causing mechanicals (crashes, knocks, going off course, avoiding mud and rocks, bad shifting, etc). Largely it's plain bad luck. But assuming that a mechanical is always faultless is not correct.

Is Lourensford a playground for the wealthy or is it an untamed backwater? 🤷‍♂️ Should a foreign owned company be labelling a whole continent as untamed, especially considering that the private farms the route goes through are far from it? Also, the untamed route has been shortened, which I support in these conditions, but goes against the untamed marketing message somewhat. This is Africa!

Hi there Anyone attempting to give an estimate will need some more information to start. What is the overall condition of the bike? What components are on the bike? Which year model is it? When was it last serviced? Pictures will also help a lot.

Unfortunately, notifying people of minor moderation decisions isn't a luxury our time usually allows. In an ideal world, yes. Paid feature perhaps? 😉 We also moderate haphazardly when it is reported or when we happen to notice it, rather than having a moderation team or time allocation seeking out things to correct.

We used to run promotional competitions using Strava to complete challenges. You might remember the Food Lover's ones. Strava wanted $10,000 in 2016 for API access for such things. So we don't any more.

I did it from 1F but weather was good that year. Laugh it off if the wind is bad. It's was terrible experience but got the job done 🤣 I led the group from the start, mostly because I didn't trust the poor bunch etiquette on display. If you're braver you could sit in that group until Smits where it shatters to pieces. After that it's solo all the way with lots of scavengers from earlier groups happy to draft behind you but never coming to the front when asked to take a turn. There's some camaraderie after Suikers with people happier to help when they know the goal is in sight.
