  1. if there's no budget involved, get a Garmin. 830 is great with a nice screen. The virtual partner, climb pro etc are all great tools to have if you want to pace yourself properly.
  2. ^^^^^ This. Have just done a warranty return with them a few weeks ago.
  3. The size chat shows hip measurements and not waist. You would be more a medium to large.
  4. think its time I move to Cpt again... those views - including the bike offcourse
  5. I ride that Kiwi brand IRL, Chapter2 Tere. They are great bikes, rare in SA. Not badly priced too , https://www.chapter2bikes.com/range/tere/matt-gloss-black
  6. ok sir, will remove myself for you.
  7. it says forgetting to use gears outdoors, if this happens then you shouldnt be on a bike.
  8. For online, I think you just need the TV licence number and copy of ID to be uploaded. Been a few years since i've done this so may have changed. Using your moms will be fine. no verifications are done to check address etc.
  9. I do the same most of time... okay I havent been doing too much of intervals recently as there isnt anything to really train for, but I certainly dont become lazy or forget how to ride outdoors. During L5 lockdown, I rode 30 days straight on Zwift, 1650km of intervals, races etc. Never had a problem riding outdoors on first day of L4. I just find it strange, thats all.
  10. Sorry not having a go at you, but I find it hard to believe this. If you are doing intervals above FTP or above your "comfort" zone, ERG is not going to make it easier. If your FTP is 250w, you cant set 20min intervals at 400w and expect to ride it out with ease. the trainer doesnt make it easier in ERG mode if you dont have the strength to hit the numbers.
  11. Hirsch have their birthday sale on at the moment... these prices are very similar to black friday deals. And you dont have to stand among 100 people during C19
  12. When life gets in the way, not everyone would be able to get enough sleep, eat right etc. But one needs to remember that this is not a quick fix, you still need to do your basic mobility work. This just helps a bit more, you can use it while sitting on the couch watching TV. Nothing bad can really come of it. Most have multiple settings so you can adjust as needed.
  13. I find it strange that any rider would have this working against them. Also if you continue to mix it up, train/do intervals indoors and ride out weekends etc then there shouldn't be problems.
  14. Doesnt look like 4iii have for 8100. nothing listed on their website. https://4iiii.co.za/precision-single-sided.html https://shop.4iiii.com/products/left-side-precision-powermeter-ride-ready?variant=17321768902#details
  15. is your laptop picking up the Ant+ dongle ? Think you may need to install drivers for it.
  16. might be some truth in that, but if you legs cannot produce that power then the trainer would lock up... its not like the trainer is rolling at say 250w, you have to turn the pedals to hit the numbers.
  17. its worth the 600 bucks. Been using one for about 3 months now and its great for recovery and the few minor niggles that pop up. Don't be fooled by these expensive "branded" ones, they all from China. The look is just different. Check Aliexpress and Amazon, you will find the same things. Just shipping to SA is a problem at the moment.
  18. #Zwiftspeed
  19. I still record on my edge to get discovery vitality points . But yeah if you dont need this then just record on Zwift and send to Garmin/Strava and TP.
  20. I was in the same boat not too long ago. Went from Cycleops Powerbeam "smart" wheel on trainer to Elite Direto X. The cycleops was over reading quite a bit, some cases by 30-40w average over an hour. Its also much easier to hold power on the wheel on trainers vs direct drive, well thats from my experience. Tested different bikes with different power meters and outcome was the same. Direto X was within a few watts when tested with Specialized and 4iii powermeters. Rather just use the numbers to track progress on the Flow.
  21. Stay away from Token... after sales support has taken a knock in recent months. Easton EC70 Aero is a good, using 1 for a while now.
  22. The wallpaper of Chappies ?? haha
  23. As mentioned, Saris/Cycleops Fluid2. No nonsense dumb trainer.
  24. I get this all the time, you ride too much... you never at home... So taking a short break, this morning I was asked why I didnt go out riding, like wtf, they are confused. Guess the weekend will be a good one on the roads
  25. Ant+ dongle on a 2m extension so it sits next to my trainer. On windows laptop, maybe had issues 2-3 times with drop outs in about 4 years.
