  1. Rather take that 5k and buy some goodies for the bike
  2. Some bling would be nice... but doubt we'll ever get this in SA unless some dealer purchased a few when they were released.
  3. And you just need to open your caliper on rim brake, so no big deal.
  4. and mid week intervals also make it easy to get the points. But as you say, 2 weekend rides and goal is achieved.
  5. Zwift takes gradient / drafting etc into account so the distance is higher on most routes, more so on the flat routes. You can adjust the wheel circumference on your Garmin for the trainer to try and get close, but I won't stress about this.
  6. I've been on the endurance option from the start. Not sure what the goal is, dont bother checking as I meet it with ease. The app is not loading active rewards at the moment, will check tomorrow.
  7. Sounds like its the belt or pulleys, I know they keep them in stock so should be a quick fix.
  8. #savetherimbrake
  9. Have you tried contacting Nsquared?
  10. Many think gels are Evil... Or look for cheaper options, like sweets. For convenience gels are great. And they work... Saturday I did a 4 hour ride, almost 3 hours fasted on just water only, this was 13 hours after my last meal. I could feel the bonk coming on, so 1 x 32gi gel and it kept me going for another hour. Price wise, the 32gi gels are like R22 so not too bad.
  11. Are you gonna fall from space ? your biggest challenge would be finding a 160km descend...
  12. Just wish we had a bit more here... would make for better pics
  13. mood, and the weather. With the rain yesterday, I put the alu wheels on older bike, and wasn't in the mood to wash yesterday so had to the the clean bike out today ????
  14. And this morning was almost perfect, going to be a really HOT summer. My Indian skin hates the sun so have to start really early. Hard solo 2 hours, with some time for pics
  15. Some rain in Durban yesterday, had an easy fasted fat burning ride.
  16. "Keeps" getting worse the heavier you get ? Sorry for pointing this out but why are you getting heavier ? Shoes are personal, like saddles and other things. You have to find what works for you. For me, Shimano does the job. Have been using the higher end carbon soles for about 4 years now, no issues.
  17. I see there is a new sponsor on the cycleevents page. Entries close soon, think we'll get more info late next week maybe
  18. Thats faaaast !
  19. Just get the mind around it, keep telling yourself that it's going to be hard.
  20. This cycling bug is much worse than modifying cars hey , haha.
  21. what are you doing with the other 5 days of the week ? If you cant get outdoors then this is where the trainer becomes beneficial, 1 hard session on a Tuesday and a recovery spin on Thursday to get you ready for the weekend.
  22. There are more experienced guys here, but from my crash a few years ago I had to do follow up xrays at 6 weeks and then have the doc check it out and advise. Dont recall doing any mobility exercises for the first 2 months, but I had to get a plate and 8 screws on my collarbone so maybe it will be different for you without the op.
  23. Enjoy the bleeding through your eyes
  24. You need to add some structure if you want to keep going indoors... The trainer is good for recovery rides or if you need to do intervals and hit the numbers. Zwift group rides or races can be fun, I usually join a C or D group for my Monday recovery spins, and then do structured workouts on Tuesdays and Thursday.
  25. thats gonna look proper
