  1. I have used the normal GP5000 and got decent mileage on them, +/- 7500km with 2 punctures. Then moved over to the Vitoria Corsa 2.0 and had a few punctures over like 3 days so then decided to go Gp5000 tubeless. Got the tyres from East City Cycles online as they were 1 of the few shops with stock. Did the tubeless set up last week but have not had a chance to ride them yet.
  2. their web page is down, or probably doesnt work. Have only had contact with them via Insta. Can get their contact number if you need, let me know. https://www.instagram.com/cadence_cycles/
  3. You can also try Carbon Ninja if you not able to find it anywhere. https://www.instagram.com/carbon_ninja/?hl=en
  4. Some easy riding today around Hillcrest, not feeling too lekker at the moment.
  5. Haha , that 400 odd bucks might save you a few trips to the chiro... thats a big rock ! Cool pics
  6. The Ican wheels are 18mm internal, so not the easiest to mount tyres. I have used normal gp5000, gators and Vitoria corsa. The corsa was the hardest to mount, and just 2 weeks ago I had a puncture while out and broke levers and had to call wife to pick me. So after that I decided to try out tubeless. The gp5000TL went on fairly easy, just not seating 100%. They have been holding pressure though for the last 5 hours.
  7. Few days late, just received 80mm valves from Summit Bikes this morning.
  8. Having issues seating GP5000TL on my carbon wheels, These Ican Aero wheels have given me headaches mounting tyres from day 1... Tried everything, soapy water, bombs etc and still not much luck. It has seated on most of the wheel but as soon as I deflate them 1 side pops off. Probably need to invest in a booster if I have to maintain this set up, so whats out there and available locally that doesnt cost a fortune ? Giant Control Tank Ryder Airtank 2 Airshot
  9. Spinny beat me to it. There's some guys on Insta - Cadence cycles in Krugersdorp
  10. As you say, its really tricky this time around. I had a scare, 2nd Jan I got up with a bad fever and overall just felt drained. I slept the entire weekend thinking it was fatigue from festive500 and a few late nights. Lack of energy continued for a few days and I isolated for 7 days before doing a test which came back negative. I was certain I had it by the way I felt as it was the first time ever that I felt like this.
  11. this is a major problem for me too... wife sometimes goes crazy with sweets and treats which ends up being all for me as she doesnt touch anything sweet
  12. its a tough one... I loved bread... anything toasted was my go to ... But I eventually managed to get off it after a while of trying hard. Now I have a slice or 2 of Rye every 2-3 weeks maybe.
  13. Correct, my sis in law is a doc at Lenmed and told me the same thing last week. Minimum 5 deaths a day.

back to indoors for me in the week. 6am is too late, roads already busy by then. I'm sure there will be many who ride earlier and just ignore all the rules.
  17. Cant really compare IM events to road races with groups of 100+ all together.
  18. Way too many hours on the bike... Lost 16kg which made all the difference to me being able to ride more.
  19. Where can I find 80mm tubeless valves in SA ?

    Rapha Festive 500

Its a personal accomplishment, not about winning anything. You can brag to your mates at the braai tomorrow that you rode 500km in 8 days.
