  1. Probably going to be the same excuses for Joburg classic, being in a "busy" area doesnt help. Sattelite could still happen as its out of town so to speak. But who knows these days. I entered for Joburg classic and was going to make it a weekend to visit family, will just have to wait until some event goes ahead.
  2. have to agree... I am 183cm and between 79-80kg and use a L to XL bib depending on the brand. Tops, different story. Medium with most brands I use.
  3. From reading through this you probably need a XL.
  4. Buy directly from Lake, if they are still in business. https://lakeshoes.co.za/contact-us
  5. I am thinking of making a trip to Jozi for 1 of these... Have never done Satellite but heard stories about Hekpoort... Joburg Classic is familiar roads so might go down better. Decisions decisions. I sent a mail to organizers for Joburg Classic and they say its all systems go for now.
  6. No doubt there, they have done a good job in ripping off people.
  7. I have one of these NZ bikes, the C2 Tere. they are cool and stand out, not many in SA yet. I know a few being built in Jozi and will be on the roads soon.
  8. Thats just the thing, these Spez bikes being launched are just for a select market... or maybe not. Its crazy how many of these high end bikes are out there. But For many of us its just about being "smarter" with our money and building something to similar spec at a fraction of what these "Superbikes" costs.
  9. For much less, you can build this [which looks pretty much the same] with top spec lightweight carbon goodies, and get it well below 6kg. https://www.chapter2bikes.com/range/huru/matt-orange Frame - R60k landed Gruppo - Sram Red 22 still about the lightest - R30k Wheels / Bars / stem / saddle and few extra's - R60k R50k in your pocket for another build
  10. Guessing you "might" run into some problems depending on what type of sealant you use if you had to use extenders. The extenders have like a 1-2mm hole.
  11. I have the card and everything else..., so this looks good. some extra miles for not changing anything, cant complain with that.
  12. This works, or just deselect the controllable trainer and basically do a free ride. I have just started doing workouts on TrainerRoad again and run Zwift as above, and select some hilly routes to clock up the elevation. I am using a new Elite Direto X and havent had any overheating issues yet. But about to fit an aircon in the paincave for summer so I hope it will be fine as the hours increase.
  13. my Anatomic Platinum bibs that I bought in 2017 has been an issue, pad too far forward and creeps up and moves around when you stand up. That was really a wasted R1k or so.
  14. the Tempus TT's also work very well for FTP as the gradients are alot more consistent when compared to the crit routes. for some of us average riders the TT course takes +/- 22-26 minutes so its ideal.
  15. went from seeding index of 18 now to 31 due to lack of racing in 2019 and nothing in 2020... so for me I hope I can get in a few races before the bigger events like CTCT. Also in the best shape in my 5 years of riding thanks to lockdown so looking forward to testing the legs. Now we can only hope that things change for the better in SA
  16. I dont see any posts or vlogs about smashing records from PS, so whats your deal ?
  17. #Blacknyellow
  18. most people in SA are going on with life as if nothing is wrong, its like level 0.5 lockdown. Hope some events do happen, ready to jump into the car for a drive to Jozi.
  19. Danny does this with bikes, and his cars... so he's well trained in that department.
  20. You just need to update the wheel circumference on your garmin. Go to sensors > settings and manually change it. https://www.reddit.com/r/cycling/comments/7io9e1/elite_direto_wheel_circumference/
  21. Yeah agree on this, on the bike is different and where it matters. Tight on legs, sometimes a good thing. Makes you look and feel slimmer , lol.
  22. The size chat shows hip measurements and not waist. You would be more a medium to large.
  23. think its time I move to Cpt again... those views - including the bike offcourse
  24. I ride that Kiwi brand IRL, Chapter2 Tere. They are great bikes, rare in SA. Not badly priced too , https://www.chapter2bikes.com/range/tere/matt-gloss-black
