  1. WR 1.0

    947 Ride Joburg

A week later and my entry is still not resolved. Received a WA message on Friday asking for all my details so they can confirm. Currently the only one entered still seems to be my 6 year old ( in the man race....)

I'm still waiting for my updated seeding. The starting time link form earlier in the tread still doesn't show my details
  3. WR 1.0

    947 Ride Joburg

Following on from my earlier post around my 6 year old being seeded in KK. I sent an email to the general email and requested it be corrected. I then went onto Howler last night and saw there was some info missing on my entry ( early bird last year). Completed those, and got the " success" message. When I downloaded my ticket though, once again, the youngling's details were showing. Sent another email this morning, included my entry confirmation and both current tickets. Response was that my email is not clear. So I typed slowly and explained again. Then got a link requesting to update details again........ Now we wait

Congratulations, based on the email I received last night, you'll be riding with my 6 year old son. I entered him into the kiddies race but seems he got upgraded to the main race - must be due his stellar time set last year in the 1.5km mud fest........... So much for trust in their seeding abilities 🤪 ( I obviously sent an email asking the organizers to please correct)
  5. Feva Starseat, I bought mine from Sportsmans but they also pop up 2nd hand every now and then
  6. Correct, I even included links to websites showing items not available locally
  7. Instructions are not exactly straight forward? Where is the download link? Everything they send is more of a FAQ?
  8. Also raised in Malcolm Gladwell's - Outliers (kids born earlier in the year are stronger than those born later in the year)
  9. Same here, my 800 works 100%, I also have a 205 ( use it for my 6 year old so he has a GPS when riding like dad), my 520 has no issues and the Fenix 3 is also still ticking over
  10. I haven't tried the workouts yet. Will give it a shot.
  11. There's been a few discussions around this on the Forum. You can either approach a stand alone (Cyclesure) or add it to your Short Term insurance policy under Contents (usually All Risks if you want cover away from your house). Reach out to a Broker to give you advise if you dont want to wing it alone
  12. I run it from my Android cellphone without issues. Their updates are huge though, last weeks was 800meg. (and yes, even the daily frequent "rides" turns into a race as no one seems to want to be overtaken.....)
  13. Luck of the draw unfortunately. You'll experience the same on vehicle repairs - especially on certain models where parts needs to imported - Unfortunately your policy usually states that Insurers are not liable for parts delays ( which makes sense as its not something they can control) so we tend to see client's running out of car hire allocated days, more often now due to parts being on back order
  14. I have 2 of these bags that could be used as wheelbags. Brand new, never used, I took the wrapping off to take the picture. 70cm by 70 cm. Based in Boskruin, Randburg near Lifestyle nursery.
  15. Seeing as some have commented that Multiply is better, Is it possible to join both Vitality and Multiply? (will it be worth it?)
  16. Rode up to Kaapschehoop on day before Xmas. Started way too late (just after 7am). Only one other rider headed up at that time of the day, everyone else I saw was already heading down.
  17. Insurers don't repair salvage and sell it on Bikehub. Someone else might buy the salvage and do it though.
  18. Thanks! Just checked, it works now
  19. I've used it a few times. Could never get the Training program option to work. Kept getting error messages stating that I was logged out - the Woosh helpdesk stopped responding after I sent them screen recordings of the error - even after I asked for feedback.....
  20. Sent you a PM. Alternatively, won't a bike rack strap work? Thule sells them for R250 a pack I think?
  21. The twins loved their "new" bikes when I got them pedal bikes, upgrades from the push bikes. My son immediately took to it easily, but my daughter took a while. Once she got going though, she looked more aggressive on the bike ( crouched low and hammering it). My son permanently looks he is on a Sunday coffee cruise. Now she's off riding ( I'm letting her be and avoid forcing her to ride), but her brother still loves it. He did the Meerkat ( 1.5km) ride (mudfest) at the 947 and now keeps asking me when is his next race. ( he wears his Versus socks whenever he can "so people can see he's a cyclist" ) He loves riding the Spruit from trailhead up to Emmarentia but being on a single speed does struggle a bit every now and then...... I'll probably upgrade him to a 20" with some gears soon
  22. Thanks to this tread I pulled the trigger on getting the Garmin radar this morning. Used the fitness device option on Discovery and saved 50%......
  23. Anyone else struggling with Garmin Vitality yesterday and today? My points are not updating
  24. If you click on your name on the results page, it opens another block with times you passed certain points in the race. Use that to calculate
  25. You've obviously had some bad experiences. Perhaps giving more details about what went wrong, will help others on this tread?
