Absolutely. Whilst I doubt they will go for a Superpole type setup (because it's boring AF), they definitely need to sort out the penalties. But heck, cruising and looking for a tow is even happening in MotoGP now, so I'm not quite sure what the solution is to be honest. But yeah, starting from the back row or pit lane is clearly not serious enough. Championship points or missed races should come to the fore I think.

I'm going to disagree with the two of you. If the riders didn't think that they needed the time, they wouldn't have gone out in a session. Warmup is an important session because your race engineers would have had another full evening to go over FP3, FP4 and Qualifying data. Which could give you something to test and confirm the next morning. Or you know, perhaps you sent your bike into the airfence during qualifying on Saturday, and you mechanics spent the evening rebuilding your bike. I wouldn't want to be going into a race without having ridden the bike first. If you bin it in Warmup, well that's your problem for pushing too hard. As for Binder sitting out Q2, he only had one set of soft tyres, so there was no point for him to go out until the last minute to set his time. And as for total time on track, it's not much different than it has always been. Previously there were 3x Free Practice sessions of 45 mins each, and one qualifying session of an hour. That hour was usually 15 mins at the start to set a banker lap, 30 minutes doing race simulations, and 15 minutes of trying to get pole position. Now it's just been split up into individual sessions, and chucking out all but the 12 fastest for the actual pole position dash. I think it's a great format.

I haven't, but it appears to have been said in jest. And there's this: This, however, is a lot more concerning/interesting.

David Emmett covered this much better than I could ever hope to.

Quite a bit of noise on social media about the sponsor.
  6. Super miffed that I missed out on this!
  7. Late start, but a good day out on the gravel masjien
  8. Having installed a ceiling in a double garage earlier this year, I don't envy you at all. Great job!
  9. So the race has now become our local club ride...
  10. I make the point to drive from Plett to GRTP when I'm there. Do we not have a local hubber who lives in Sedgefield as well?
  11. This is the bike I assume: https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/hardtail-mountain-bikes/468469/mongoose-m Very basic components, but it does look to be in fairly good condition.
  12. Blew up properly today and got stranded in Bronkhorstpruit

    T-15 Minutes. I'm nervous.
  14. Is it this little thing? If so, I've also wanted one of these little oscillating trimmers since forever.
  15. Furthest ride for me by some stretch, thanks Velo lads and lasses. Edit: The Social Media post that went with it:
  16. What is your overall fitness like at this moment? Do you think that you will improve on it? If so, I'd stick with the 36, but if you are really struggling then I would go down to a 34 in the interim whilst you build up your fitness, and then switch back to the 36 once you're stronger. For reference, I ride a 34:34 (or 36:36 I don't recall) ratio on my gravel bike all around PTA-East with no real issues.
  17. What are the 'serious climbs' you are referring to? WTF and Achilles? I think you should give the 36T time to be honest. Pretoria is not all that steep. Sure, it has some sections like the above, but they're generally not all that long and most of the time you're on the flatter gradients when riding around the plots in the East.
  18. Some of it was WILD. I seriously enjoyed it - also not an anime fan.

I've not seen anything recent about this, so I'd be keen to have your source. The feedback in my opinion was that it will get banned, because if everyone has it, there's no real advantage to have it. But I can't see them banning it this season unless there's a real safety reason to it. Edit: I've also not yet done my reading on this, but I'm not sure how Aprilia will manage this, unless they dump Savadori, or have perpetual wild-cards (but isn't there a limit to it?)

Wow that's some insider knowledge, I had to dig properly to find some more info on this. Sounds like it's only for next season. There's no way Aprilia would let him do both at the same time.

I wish there were more angles for this incident, because from the up front, it does really appear that Miller went out of his way to force Mir out of the track. If there was an overhead shot it would make it a lot clearer to see if Miller genuinely deviated from his line to go and chase Mir who legitimately ran wide out of the final corner. If Mir had gone off circuit onto the astroturf I would guess a sanction would have been on the cards for Miller, but because there was no real incident I guess race direction didn't bother taking it further. Mir's pass on Miller was hard, but not irresponsible, and definitely didn't warrant the retaliation that Miller effected. Here's Mat Oxley's view:
  22. We also have a Satori Smart (with trainer tyre) at home and the noise difference between it and the Flux is very noticeable.
