  1. Looks like it's another weekend of Zwift on the cards
  2. Jeeze that asymmetric wear is strange. You should get him some dual-sided power meters...
  3. Let's be fair. COVID is a real thing and Australia has handled the entire pandemic better than most other countries. I would also not be keen on touring to South Africa at this point in time. We should have accepted their offer to go there instead, but we didn't. As for your last question, you know the real reason.
  4. Oh yes, that's my other annoyance. Sometimes (but not al the times), I would get a corner lifting on my PETG prints, but it doesn't stop after a few layers, it just flipping carries on and on and on. I realise that this is a cooling issue, but bloody hell it is annoying.
  5. My experience with PETG hasn't been the best to be honest. I could never get it to consistently print well. I'm not sure if I didn't have the temperature right, but I would get a lot of ooze which would end up wrapping around the nozzle and just causing a whole bunch of havoc and ugly prints. I now only print PETG if I have a water exposed part. The nice thing about PETG though is you can print 0.25mm layers instead of 0.2mm so you score about 20% on the speed there, but you need to print a bit slower than PLA, so it's not all that different in the end.
  6. That shouldn't matter, in my opinion.
  7. Creality Ender 3 (Regular/Pro/Silent) is a good start. I have a Creality CR10 Mini, which to be honest, was overkill. I could have managed with an Ender 3.
  8. The amount of thingies I've printed to assist with DIY is ridiculous. And exactly as you said, oh, it broke? I'll just quickly print one.
  9. Neeeeeeeerd Kidding. Your modeling skills are awesome, well done patches!
  10. Those 1098's were stunners when they were first released, and they still are. Congrats! My big boy dream is to one day own an RSV4.
  11. So I did my first two-hour ride today and it really wasn't terrible. With the cooler weather it was definitely manageable, but I don't see myself being able to do it in full summer heat. Could have gone longer but ran out of drink.
  12. Another day in Sunny South Africa
  13. For those of you who might be interested, Chamberlain has a massive power tool sale at the moment. Finally picked up a new circular saw (Bosch GKS190) at R400 off. Chuffed.
  14. Why the Velvet over the Matt (5), serious question as I don't know. I still have some offcuts that I can test on at least.
  15. Okay well so I have more or less finished the project that I was working on which required all the building of other things earlier in the thread. Like they say, it often takes longer building the machine that builds the machine. I've been delaying posting pictures as I wanted to style it first to show exactly how it's supposed to look and what the purpose of it is, but whatever. I don't even know what to call it, but here is my Ash Magazine Stand Pot Plant Holder Thingy. It has space to place some coffee table books/magazines, and space on the side for an indoor plant of some sorts. It's not perfect, but it's mine (actually it will probably become my mother's as I have literally no space for it) I still need to oil it, but I'm still struggling to decide what, and from where. Most online resources advise Danish Oil for Ash, but notes that it yellows with time. As there are some experts here, what would you suggest? Build photos and issues to come...
  16. There actually is a 3D Printing Thread Unfortunately I can't help you on this. I've only printed with PLA and PETG and have a stock standard Bowden extruder.
  17. This made my heart pain just a little
  18. Out, because if you don't exercise you get permanent residency in:
  19. What game?
  20. I stopped watching after the 2:33 scene
  21. Your painting made me think of this not-painting http://matthewnewton.us/blog/little-boxes-at-the-edge-of-mexico-city
  22. I've also been holding off watching for some reason...
  23. Eugh I'm so jealous.
