  1. That was a good movie... If you're a Tom Hanks fan, definitely watch Captain Phillips. Wasn't sure I was going to enjoy it, and it seemed to get off to a slow start, but I found it riveting and the tension at the end hectic... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPsa62_sYHY
  2. It's an old bike... maybe it needs a little help to keep it up...
  3. As if there weren't enough stats to deal with in cricket already!!
  4. https://m.sport24.co.za/Cricket/Proteas/open-letter-to-australian-skipper-steve-smith-20180326 An Aussies perspective...
  5. Some of those are amazing! I'd love to have something like that W32 engine - what a work of engineering art... It would have pride of place on my lounge table! (my wife would be none too happy about it though... )
  6. That box would only last a week at our office block's parking lot!!

    Who remembers?

I still have mine in a cupboard somewhere... My dad bought it for me in 1988 ('cos he didn't trust a 12 year old with his Mamiya, but the lenses were interchangeable!) We were living in Botswana at the time and I plowed through rolls of film with that camera on our trips though the game reserves... Good memories!
  8. Wait a minute! Are you implying size is important??
  9. 2 out of 2. Congratulations, you pass Wasting-Time-on-the-Hub-While-I-should-be-Working 101
  10. Mad! There is, however, a high school physics exams question in there somewhere... A freefalling skydiver makes use of a net instead of a parachute to break his fall. He is travelling at a terminal velocity of 200km/h when he hits the net and comes to rest in 1.5 sec. What G-force does his body experience? Bonus question: If 50 G's is the maximum a human body can withstand and survive, is the skydiver now: a) Dead b) Just plain crazy
  11. The green grass is also a dead giveaway!
  12. Or the Monster Energy drinks logo! Lol!
  13. True, and they aren't physical items that need to be manufactured and distributed... Electronic 1's and 0's that anyone with a cellphone/computer can download...
  14. So I had a nostalgic weekend... I was at my mom's house and found 4 boxes of my old photos and slides ranging from the late 80's when my dad bought me my first SLR to about 10 years ago when I stopped using film... Question - Does anyone know of any companies that rent out slide/film scanners? I'd like to save a lot of it digitally...
  15. Moutainbikingdom is a land where I, Stoffel, must defeat the ever expanding Boep and save my Sanity in search of the elusive Fitness. It's a beautiful land, full of flowing single track, tricky rockgardens and devilishly steep climbs, with loads of friendly mountainbike folk and a few who don't greet while out on a ride and one or two trolls. More info, with detailed maps and records on conquests, can be found in the link: www.strava.com (Sitting at work, really not feeling like working...)
  16. "Braai'ed out"?? What is this "braai'ed out" thing you speak of? I have never heard of that before...
  17. Granny bought those exact ones for my kids as an early Christmas present... They absolutely love getting to open it each day. Such a cool idea!
  18. With that shirt, Redbull can change their slogan... Redbull - gives you wings (and the ability to outrun the fastest land mammal)
  19. Smoked some chicken pieces on the Weber yesterday. Coals with apple wood chips on one half of the braai and the chicken on the grid on the other half with potato wedges underneath... Crispy skin and still dripping with juice... hmmm... Cooking chicken on indirect heat is an absolute winner in the Weber. Say what you like about them, it's a very versatile braai...
  20. When Zuma finally leaves office, assuming he's not in jail, he's going to need a job to pay back all the money he owes - he could start a comedy act along the same lines as Tanie Evita... It could be called Gogo Gupta...
  21. Just got an email from Takealot - they have some Star Wars Lego on special today... #justsaying...
  22. Yes it could... the one on the left could have pedals... #justsaying...
  23. It is!! Don't think you would ordinarily be able to get bunches like that though as they set you off at intervals, but that would certainly add to the fun! I was surprised how many people I saw come off (and some had proper roasties...) But if you're ever in Rotorua, spend the majority of your time mountain biking - there are some awesome trails...
  24. A cog in the cassette that drives the Hub is now missing... RIP Barry...
  25. I have a cousin in the States who's into Lego too and we were discussing pricing. It seemed pretty similar... I guess it will vary from model to model, but we were comparing pricing on the new GS800. I tend to buy on Takealot (if on special) or use our local Lego shop called Kiddiwinks... Enjoy! Lego is addictive...
