  1. There was a guy in matric, Michael Angliotti who later went on to marry Frith vd Merwe of Comrades fame. As a school boy he used to cycle from Boksburg to Durban non stop to spend time at their sea side house.
  2. That will be like me cycling to Witbank and back every day.
  3. Seems simple call LA's bluff, UDSADA to provide everything they have whether they feel it's relevant or not, who knows their might be stuff there implicating other people. That way no one can cry foul.
  4. Does not address the question. Why not send the whole report across and not selected, this could perhaps arm LA fanatics with conspiracy theories that USADA has got something to hide. Odd that LA lawyer, who i assume speaks for LA will want the WHOLE report to be sent which if USADA is correct will be more damaging.
  5. If its true chicks dig scars he's in for a treat.
  6. As mentioned they'l most likely swap the components on to the new frame, the parts from Modanine (XT parts) were swapped over to Mercury frame
  7. As mentioned possessions can replaced, lives not. Still it really sucks when something like this happens, makes you feel vulnerable and violated. I has 2 break ins 2 years ago within a month of each other, after the 1st one i reinforced my windows, 2nd one i reinforced the garage door where they broke through and installed remote alarms inside the house, i use SWS Security who have been tops and touch wood, no more incidents since.
  8. Where did all this talk of climbing creep in Suikebosrand is around the same distance and ascent and that's tar Looks like i'll have to pack plenty HTFU. The routes will be a mix of plenty singletrack, gravel and game farm roads. The routes are relatively flat with occasional steep climb and descent. The 30km route is ideal for the novice rider and lesser fit, but has enough surprises to keep the experienced rider smiling. The 60km riders are in for a huge treat as the routes in the Suikerbosrant hills are new to even the locals and will be available to us only on this day. Spectacular views guaranteed. Do not miss it!
  9. Would be my choice
  10. Tragic, condolences to his family. Hope the police followed procedure so there is no loophole to prevent this scum from being sent away for a very long time.
  11. Started MTB on toe clips and takkies, BIG MISTAKE Switched to open pedals and takkies and rode like that for about a year. Then i saw a pair of MTB shoes going cheap and decided to try them out, fitted SPD pedals and have not looked back since. Don't regret it at all.
  12. At 100kg+ i ride between 2.5 and 3 bar off road and 4 bar on road with tubes on my 26" can be quite bumpy but prefer it to risk of pinch flat. My 29" is tubeless and i ride 2bar front 2.2 rear, again i could go lower but don't want to risk the tyre burping. . If you prefer softer you could possibly go a bit lower to say 1.8 to 2bar with tubes but i personally wont go lower.

Easy day for me , tired of chasing the elusive sub3
  14. Tubes you would need to pump a bit more to avoid pinch flats, if you hit an obstacle such as a rock even the sludge wont help much.
  15. You better or perhaps do the 30km
  16. Name looked familiar, but only clicked when i saw the Australia connection.
  17. Enjoy, i have the Comp with parts built over from my previous Modanine in a warranty replacement. Local brand dealership and support is very good.
  18. If i know i'm going to spend a long time in the saddle i slice up fruitcake and take that, banana and some energy jellies along.
  19. Eish, so many MTB races same day USN-Midrand, Out and Back - Villiers, Delta Dash Jhb,
  20. Have you chatted to Riaan the owner at Bikescene in Selcourt. He used to work at TDF and when there he sorted my wheels out for me.
  21. I have 2 Lezyne mini pumps, the HP pumps to 8.3bar and the HV which pumps to 6.2bar, both have a strong velcro strap to prevent them from coming loose when riding. I also have the bigger Lezyne metal floor pump which i scored from my LBS.
  22. You don't mention what wheels, i suspect they might be Alex though.
