  1. I didn't meen to be mean. (Is my spelling correct?) It's just that there's usually 3 different threads about the same thing every month. To give some input: I use poplock and prefer that, as you can easily change the floodgate(think it's the floodgate) from your handlebar. Seems like crc has it as discontinued.
  2. 1. click on advanced search at top right. 2. search the forums for poploc or pushloc 3. get the answer 4. if you can't find it, ask again and I'll give you the link
  3. Honda mtb stage race was like R200 or R300
  4. Only for beginners? Or will the more experienced rider benefit from this
  5. Also check to see if it's not dirty and make sure the seatpost is not further out than the max
  6. quick release
  7. Why QR seatclamp? Is it to easily lower saddle for when you want to get creative on route
  8. Well. Depends what you want to do. You can still jump a curb with a normal mtb, which will also be easier to do the 15km with. If you want to play around and do some urban jumps of say 1m and higher then you can get a urban/dirt jump bike. DO a search on dirt jump. The bikes with which they do balancing tricks is called a trials bike. WOuldn't recommend riding 15km with that. They normally don't even have a saddle. Give some more info, and then maybe we can help some more.
  9. Attach as an attachment
  10. You did 600km's over the last two weeks? Think I did that much since april on my mtb
  11. You should be able to fix that leak somehow. My bike has been standing for 7 weeks and haven't lost any pressure. Running a race king protection and crossmark ust with stans
  12. for ultimate mtb's go to www.pinkbike.com But I suppose you're talking about ss. They should have a few
  13. Sure it should work. Just like my xt fd works on my double crankset.
  14. I've got a file going on how to choose components. I should just go sit down and finish the damn thing. Will be aimed at mtb though
  15. mmm. Riding both I can never really contribute to these kind of threads, but let me say this: After family members(mtb'ers) started riding tandem, the mtb'ers stopped greeting them on route.
  16. Or get to irene area via lenchen and do this: http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/south-africa/centurion/976126626035368317
  17. Get onto lenchen or Nelmapius and work your way towards Central Centurion. From there get onto Botha laan and follow it untill Fountains circle. From Fountains there's two routes: 1. Take nelson mandela drive untill Trichardt and turn right on Trichardt. From Trichardt turn off onto Botha lane again and work your way back home. 2. Take Nelson mandela and turn left up to klapper kop. Just follow the road and eventually it will become Rigel Ave. Cross over the N1 and after a few km's turn right in hans strijdom, which becomes louis trichardt and then on to botha and work your way back home.
  18. This is my "opinion". They are not spesific to certain frames. You get some components that are made for certain frames, but not in general. Things like stems, handlebars, groupsets etc are personal choice and are there to get the best fit for each individual.
  19. Or, he is a duelie(roadie and mtber)
  20. Nicely built up. I'd like to see some other colours on the handlebar somewhere. But that's just me liking to pimp things. PS: I want that saddle.
  21. Ok, I'll try to give some tips: It's my personality to get bored easy, so here's some tips that I use. 1. Riding with music.(Not too loud) 2. Join a group at least once a week. (Can be a totally social ride) 3. If you don't feel like going for a ride, at least go for a ride around the block. If after that ride you haven't picked up a cycling mood, then go home. 4. Join a spinning class. 5. Try a new discipline. (I started with mtb, then I added road, this week I did my first spinning class and in the next few months I'll add dirt jump and track riding.) 6. Do races. 7. As Bos said, plan the session ahead and give meaning to every session. Don't just go out and ride. 8. Try riding at night. 9. Give your bike a cosmetic upgrade. If a bike looks nice, you'll want to ride it more often. 10. Get some buddies and drive out to stellies/franshoek/paarl on a saterday morning and go and ride there for change of scenery
  22. I make up my program as I go along. But I do keep it structured. I could follow normal advice, but I'd like to pick up my training faster, hence this thread.
  23. Well at least I recovered the whole of saterday. Got some more technical questions after reading a bit. 1. We need the cold shower/ice bath to contract the arteries as too flush out all the lactic acid. 2. Then there is the warming up again so the arteries can get wider for increase in bloodflow and deliver nutrition to the muscles to help recovery Stop me if I'm wrong so far!! Question: Which should happen first or doesn't it matter? And what recovery method helps for number 1 and which for number 2. This is what I think: Sauna (2) Stretch (2) Recovery ride (2) Elevation ? Cold bath/shower/ice (1) Compression (1) At the moment I do a warm down or stretch. Then cold shower and then steam room with legs in the air.
  24. Wrap something around your the fork, where the bottom headset bearing is, to protect from mud. Or better yet, buy this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=4773 Dont wear white. I have a white jersey and arm warmers as proof Get eggbeaters and take shimano pedals along to through at potential attackers. Continuous cable housing.
  25. Tandem BMX. Now that's legit
