  1. I'm giving my roadbike a full service before road season starts again. I have never worked on a roadbike and will have a couple of questions(Only ones which I can't find on google) First one: 1. I took off the dust cap on my campag eurus wheels and after trying to remove a nut I found it may be a balancing weight or something. Is this for balance and how do I get the wheel to balance again. 2. Are there any maintenance on these wheels? They still run super smooth.
  2. So I guess I don't need them then?
  3. That's what I thought, but I wonder how the ride will be without them. BTW, just measured -1.5oC in the car. freaken hell and we had a braai outside my friend's house
  4. I'm giving the Cervelo a full service and I'm replacing my serfas handlebar tape with specialized roubaix bar tape that I got from fritz pienaar. This is the first time I'm replacing handlebar tape, so I'm a bit new to this. Anyway, the serfas tape had gel inserts under them like in the pic. Do I use them again, or did they come with the handlebar tape. The gel inserts is also serfas. Total disassembly took my 25min. Wonder how long it will take to replace everything.
  5. Can't really do it. You'll have to make the resistance the same as a road and then there is wind resistance etc. You can maybe simulate it closely by doing tests on the road and on the idt and measure hr and cadence etc.
  6. If I went, I would have only taken armwarmers and first ascent cyclone top
  7. I went alone the first time. The route is marked okeish, but doubt you'll get lost. Groenkloof isn't big enough to get lost. Worst thing that can happen is that you'll end up riding an extra 30min if you don't know where you're going and I don't see an extra 30min on my bike as a bad thing.
  8. Oh dis bad. So now whe're getting mugged by the guys that look after our cars.
  9. one word: INSURANCE I have it, wether it's alu or carbon. if it breaks, they replace it. Anyways, I ride what makes me happy and not what may have a greater chance of breaking
  10. O ok. I also have reba race and it's oily at the lockout, but I've been told that it's not all that bad. I also won't like that on a brand new fork though
  11. It's not that big a deal if a fork leaks a little oil, but it shouldn't really. I know my answer is weird. You can ask johan bornman if you are concerned
  12. I also went carbon mtb this year. Yet to have it break on me. It's nice and light. Climbs like monster. It's dead beautifull.
  13. I am a very happy owner of a second hand carbon roadbike and mtb. Look for cracks everywhere. Don't ask which frames are the strongest. There are hundreds of them. If you have a frame in mind, then google for reviews.
  14. what about second hand bikes?

    rotors?

You can use different brands of rotors if you didn't know that. Like tarmac says, you can use those shimanos with your avid brakes. I'm currently using 140 rear and 160 front and that's fine for normal XC
  17. Use lead weights on your left pedal and gym only the left side of your body. Kidding, haven't really had such a problem
  18. I would go for a cervelo R3 sl if you'll take second hand.
  19. Tarmac is running a 29er with 28-42 and 11-34 casette and he's not having any problems
  20. Ridr, Here is more info BCD: 94 / 64 mm/li> COLOR: BLACKCHAINRING SIZE: 42-29 TOOTHCRANKARM LENGTH: 170/175mm - SPECIAL INSERT ALLOWS BOTH LENGTHS ON SAME CRANK! WEIGHT: 716g +/- 10g INCLUDING BBCHAINLINE: 48mmQ-FACTOR: 168mmAlso check out https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=85675&KW=aerozine for a closeup pic I use 2 spacers on drive side and 1 on non-drive side
  21. I really like my aerozine 29-42, but at 708g for complete crankset they may be a bit heavy for you ridr. They are cheap though. About R2300 from ebay.
  22. Oh damn. I used bombs to inflate my tubeless two weeks ago. Was too lazy to go to petrol station. Maybe I should open them up and see what's going on.(I have heard about the bombs, but a lot of guys inflate with them. Maybe just some sealents.) my intense, I have heard thta non-ammonia sealents will work. I can't recommend one sorry. I'm no expert in tubeless, but I think OKO is amonia free.
