  1. Woooooohooooooooooo give that man a Cigar
  2. LOL by Monday the 24th he is really going to know what pain is all about - what he is feeling now is about the same as a very mild headache
  3. Take it easy now, you should really just be going through the motions. I am pretty sure that if you do the above but at a really relaxed pace you will be well rested for next week. You could even take the above and half everything just to keep the legs and muscles turning over.
  4. Training for 70.3 is hectic and we are all looking through the back of our eyeballs at the moment. Continue with your normal training. You should however be in the taper phase this week. I still need to do the following sessions this week and next so maybe do the same and hopefully it will be enough to get you recovered. Fri 45 Min Swim Sat 3Hr Bike 30 Min Run Sun 90 Min Run Mon Rest Tue 20 Min Run Wed 30 Min Bike Thu 20 Min Swim Fri Rest Sat 20 Min Bike 10 Min Run
  5. This one shouldn't be hard to track, with the cell number and banking details the police will pick him up quick - this is exactly why FICA and RICA were introduced. You guys who have been taken need to swap details and case numbers and make your police stations aware that there are other cases and charges currently open, that way the investigating officer will deal with all cases at the same time as opposed to first trying to collate everything together - things are still done manually in this country
  6. Phone Mac at Thule in Boksburg - tell him Clint referred you and he must give you a good price 011 823 1560
  7. Win a race
  8. Road Tandems to the best of my knowledge only come in two sizes Large / Small and Extra Large / Medium so the former would apply to your boys with the heavier of the two being the pilot. Putting the lighter guy on the front makes turning more difficult as well as the descents can become a bit nervy when fatso on the back starts to twitch and move around. I have this problem as my stoker is 10kg's heavier than me but he is a bit blind so having him on the back is the right thing to do I do think that at their height you are going to struggle to get them to fit properly onto a large frame size. On a large frame you are looking at about 56cm Top tube center to center. Maybe also give this article a read it might help you out a bit http://www.tandemcycleworks.com/faq.htm Hope this helps
  9. I really enjoyed seeing this. This has to be the first bike shop I have ever seen donate back to the community. I have never bought anything from CWC but will be in the Cape next week, just because of this I will be sure to drop by and make a purchase. Well done guys!!
  10. In short NO you are not to heavy. You telling us that the bike shop sold you a TT bike? I can't find anywhere that Raleigh ever made an RC 4000 so maybe you really did get a Chinese knock off. Just remember that Carbon is not necessarily lighter than Alu. Probably the biggest difference between the two is that Carbon offers a stiffer ride as well as is twice the price.
  11. Ummmmm see my blog on cyclist safety - I have to say in my experience it is mostly the cyclist at fault. But this is a topic which will be discussed for ever and ever and will always be left to the discretion of the individual.
  12. My bikes always stood in the dining room until my wife got upset. I took the bed which was in the spare room and gave it away and now I have a room dedicated to my bikes She told me yesterday this was a temporary solution but I am going to put my foot down and make it a permanent one. Guess I will be moving the bikes soon
  13. Wouldn't Newtons third law apply here?

    Shoes

LOL just a little bigger than your feet, cycling shoes are not meant to fit like your normal shoes..there should be a little bit of space between your toes and the front of the shoe. Your feet swell when exercising so too tight or too small and you will be getting the pins and needles big time. Get a pair of shoes that fits your foot well and feels comfortable.
  15. Have you had a proper bike setup done?
  16. Ja I am not sure commuting to work is the right way to go about this experiment.
  17. It is supposed to take 5 working days but nobody in the post office actually works so I am not sure of their definition of a working day
  18. They are selling these things at the robot on the corner of North Rand and Elizabeth roads in Boksburg
  19. 29th overall in the Tandems in the 94.7 in 2H38 mins and doing the race with paralympic bronze medalist Gavin Kilpatrick. Not everyday a guy gets to ride with an olympian.
  20. No prob, somebody else posted the link here a few weeks ago, can't remember who so I can't take credit but it is a great weather site
  21. Just ask E1A104 what happened to him after he threw a water bottle at a taxi - it wasn't pretty
  22. See the weather forecast for tomorrow is rain the whole day. http://www.yr.no/place/South_Africa/Gauteng/Vanderbijlpark/ Good luck to all of you taking part
