  1. Well looking at the international dealership listing on their website it appears they have not heard of Africa therefore in conclusion my answer to your question would be "Nowhere" However the is an out for you in that they state that should they not have heard of your continent you can e-mail them on info@arundelbike.com and they will tell you where you can purchase their stuff. Hope this helps
  2. When you get Camelbak you need to trade your bike in as well as forgo one months rent in order to be able to get in the first repayment - this is why us roadies use bottles
  3. Short distance tri no socks - Iron Man definitely socks. Tri cycling shoes are also specifically made to allow water to run out of them after the swim. As for running you never want to run with wet feet it is a recipe for blisters.
  4. Interesting article and all too true. Not many people practice taking out and putting in a water bottle in the cage much less trying to swap them around and drink out of them whilst in a bunch. Having said this bottles on the roads will always be a problem with the condition of some of our roads and inevitably some people are going to drop a bottles. I ride with an Olympian who I would say is fairly well versed in the bottle handling technique and yesterday we hit a bump as he was drinking and we no longer have that bottle. The front bunches should also take care when discarding bottles towards sprint time to throw them off the road - better yet empty out the liquid and put it back in the cage, you can throw it in the dustbin later if you like
  5. Go get a vitamin B injection at your local pharmacy. Then always take a good multi vitamin supplement everyday with an additional 1000mg of Vitamin C. Go get some Barrocha Boost and you should be fine in a few days - but I am no doc so don't hold me to it Oh and don't train when you are feeling *** - you are feeling *** for a reason.
  6. A step up in training may cause what feels to be knee pain in your weaker leg. Still think your first step should be to have your saddle height checked.
  7. Generally knee pain will be caused from incorrect saddle height. Remember over the months your weight on the saddle and gravity will cause your saddle height to decrease so minor adjustments over periods of time are necessary. Overuse pain normally occurs in muscles around the knee joint rather than the knee itself and this is unlikely unless you have really stepped up your training program by this i mean a sudden increase by a large percentage.
  8. No doubt we will see them on Super Cycling in a few weeks giving us some poor ass excuse. Only wish that the presenters would stop treating them with kid gloves and really tell them what the cycling fraternity think.
  9. This is hands down the best bottle around Clean Bottle
  10. No Dutch
  11. I know a guy called Volcan and he looks nothing like those guys in Star Trek
  12. You want to stop doping - make it a criminal offence and send the guys to jail - long term like 10 years and see how quick the **** stops. At the moment there are just no real consequences and the rewards far outweigh the risk of getting caught.
  13. Most race organizers are now specifying that if caught in a race with an Ipod or MP3 player you will be disqualified. Iron Man go as far as also stipulating no cell phones - and believe it or not I have actually seen guys in A bunch chatting on the phone during a race. Sometimes it seems that when people get on the bike they leave their brains behind. Far as the questions goes, I would think on quiet roads or trails no problem, but in a bunch or on roads with heavy traffic you are looking for trouble.
  14. **** and here I thought it was Banana's
  15. He got caught so I suppose he is referring to himself as an idiot. Maybe he has taken stock of himself and has realized exactly what he is.
  16. Do the yellow and red bits white, they look like they don't belong - else very nice
  17. My bad, I apologize for my sanity
  18. Maybe also close this thread down now, give you some more practice on that button
  19. Did over 12000 with my Gator Skins - replaced back one last week but front is still going strong
  20. Where is that Raleigh? Otherwise go do a few loops on the 29er in the early morning on the airport runway track off yaldwin road
  21. Saturdays and Sundays should be long ride days simply because you have more time. I always recommend 2 rest days in the week but it is not a must. Should you prefer to rest only 1 day I recommend a Monday as Saturdays and Sundays should be longer and harder with Monday recovery and a gradual buildup again from the Tuesday.
  22. I think it is also pertinent to know that getting to the top of a hill also requires some technique and is not just about turning the pedals over or grinding the gears. Just by adjusting to a more upright position on the bike and sitting back on the saddle will allow you to open up your lungs. Also get your hands closer to the stem of the bike ie hands on the flat part of the handle bar and not on the hoods. Drop a gear when you stand to pedal going uphill. Try to keep a relaxed and still upper body. Hope this helps
  23. I think 90k per day may just be a bit much and you might find yourself looking through the back of your eyeballs very very quickly. Also you are taking one hell of a chance riding those roads in peak hour traffic - another way to be looking through the back of your eyeballs in a hurry. Rather train in th early mornings with the BP Garage road bunch on North Rand Road and drive to work in your car like a normal person in the interests of self preservation.
  24. Do you both get to the top of the hill at the same time? Personally I ride a bigger gear as I find I run out of lungs quicker if I spin it around. I would think if you have good cardio fitness spinning would be the way to go and if you have good leg fitness bigger gears. Rule of thumb when riding has always been the following - if you have good lungs and no legs ride an easy gear if you have good legs and no lungs ride a bigger gear. You can utilize this rule on any terrain.
  25. Wonder if he has to pay for his entry
