  1. Whats up? The Weather?
  2. Sorry to hear. Hope all is ok.
  3. Yes, and the lights and the reflectors (on the pedals as well).
  4. Surprisingly no, it is not law
  5. Morning commute to work
  6. Last week was the summer festival in our town (basically another chance to drink bucket loads of beer). Common practice for all to go there with their bikes and eat and drink the rest of the evening.
  7. Friday afternoon commute home. Went home at lunch time to do some homeoffice for the afternoon. Hot day in the sun. Although the temperature was still rising. Here in Beerland the hottest time of the day during this time of the year is more between 15:00 and 16:00 normally. What the Garmin does not show you is the humidity. I sweat like a racehorse polishing my 600 ml on the hour and twenty minute commute home and immediately drank another liter of water as I got home.
  8. Chappies remains one of my favourate stretches of road to cycle on.
  9. You posted in the wrong thread. Start a thead "Where has your beer taken you today"
  10. Need to go check this out. My sister stays close to Regensburg so will go check this out on my next visit.
  11. Was my first Fantasy Tour and had to admit I had no clue what I was doing. My sprinters in general was a stufup of note (except for Sagan). So after the first week I was sweeping right at the back of the peleton. But Chris F, Tom D, Gerraint T and Peter Sagan served me well an I ended up with a 394th position. Will next year pay better attention on rider performance before the tour.
  12. When living in SA I had a dog that had a go at me often when returning from my training rides often. I was less bothered over the possible bite and more worried about crashing if the bloody thing runs into your wheels. And the owner did not bother much even when I asked him to do something about his dog. So the one day I approached again with a bit of speed as it happened with the mutt came storming out of his yard straight at me. Perfectly timed I uncleated the right foot and kicked the bugger full in the face. Turns out dogs learn quickly. The next time I passed the dog remained nicely on his stoep licking his lips.
  13. I have learnt that it is wonderfull to commute on hot summers days here in Munich but when the weather is this good the cycling paths are actually becomming a pain in the rear end. The first 7 odd km back home is like get to a Cycle Tour start block and even out of the city you got to keep your wits with all the other "cyclists" who many of them have not flipped their Logic switches on.
  14. If he falls, it will most propably hurt too much to roll.
  15. Found this little gem of a detour on my commute to work. About halfway on my commute I go through a town that tends to have quite a bit of traffic and a couple of traffic lights. So my commuting buddy last week showed me a detour that takes you around the town with these narrow little tar roads but no traffic other than the odd cyclist and maybe one car or so. It is two kilometers longer than going through the town but the whole stretch is 8 km with no stopping so you end up doing an avg of 40 km/h which possibly makes it faster than going the shorter route with traffic and traffic lights.
  16. You did notice the date on the post?
  17. I would have soiled myself. Spider would never have made it up my leg without sliding off.
  18. I have CF, GT and PS. But had a very slow start in Week 1. Was almost right in the back. Week 2 I went into the middle of the pack. All my other sprinters went home so only have PS. Week 3 will be interresting.
  19. Whoever wrote this has absolutely no clue. As far as I know Kevin did use to play Davis cup but as he went up the seeding ladder he also had to be more selective on which tournaments he play which will be used to prepare for the next Grand Slam. The Davis Cup normally stuffs up this schedule and was also the reason why he did not participate in it anymore. Kevin went to great lengths to explain it. It is so interresting how most of these SA sports stars get to where they are with pretty much no support from the various SA sporting bodies and when they do have success guess who is the first to lay claim to it.
  20. Do we get bonus points if the sprinters finish a mountain stage?
  21. Yesterday did my score so much good. Still sitting in the slip of most
  22. Good news indeed. Reckon for the next couple of days KK will be the safest place in Pretoria. Oaks will be scared for a short while thinking the next car is a sting operation again.
  23. Me Too ... unless I start digging.
  24. I joined for the first time. I have absolutely no clue but picked my team and will see how it goes.
  25. Waiting for my commuting buddy this morning I took these pictures. This is just outside the town of Wolfratshausen. In Summer they have these rafts that carry about 40 odd people + beer (and maybe other drinks) and a band and some braai meals and other rafts stop along the way for meals. It is a 5 hour odd trip down the Isar river all the way to Munich. Every morning they build these rafts here and in the afternoon in Munich they will be dismantled again an transported by truck back here where they get built again. https://www.isarflossfahrten.biz/picture-gallery/
