  1. http://venge.specialized.com/#/home Wow. Is it too early for a Christmas wish list?
  2. Here's mine from last year: http://connect.garmi...tivity/34354485 Lol, looking back at it I remember wanting to get off and walk when I got to that last hill...
  3. It's on Dirtopia's website: http://www.dirtopia.co.za/ And the actual event page: http://www.guerilla.co.za/dirtopia/amarider-100-miler It's a great event - I did it last year for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it.
  4. 110/3 = 36.6 - call it 37.
  5. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought the coverage was poor. I was hoping for better as it was on SuperSport this year. Sadly, I've come to expect this quality from the SABC based on previous years broadcasts of the Argus Cycle Tour.
  6. I always feel sorry for the guys (and girls) on the side of the road with punctures/other mechanicals on the day of the Argus. You really hope that if you are going to get a flat, it's during a training ride and not the "one" race during the year that so many fun riders look forward to!
  7. Congrats to everyone who finished in under 3 hours. Really good going!
  8. LOL
  9. Start Group: E Start Time: 06:43 I started in J last year for my first ever Argus and got a time of 3h37. Haven't ridden one of the seeding events (was sick for Die Burger), just the usual fun-rides throughout the year. But I'm not complaining. I was just looking at my results on RaceTec (as per the link in the email they sent) and my PPA seeding was I last year when I got placed in J for the Argus and this year my PPA seeding is G and I'm starting in E. That's up two groups on both occasions. Doesn't really make sense to me... sorry if I've taken anyone's start group.
  10. Maybe you should get that tyre replaced by your LBS as Tarmac suggested? My bike came with S-Works The Captain tyres - I went tubeless with Stans shortly after getting the back and ran those tyres for about a year. Replaced them due to normal wear and tear of the tread. Replaced them with non S-Works (cheaper) The Captain and Fast Trak LK. I've been running those for just under a year and haven't had a moments hassle (touch wood). I've done over 3,600 km's on my MTB - so it's not like the tyres don't get a good workout.
  11. Cape Argus Pick n Pay MTB Challenge last year. Mentally hot!
  12. Mumford and Sons in the soundtrack: http://www.youtube.com/user/mumfordandsons
  13. I paid R3,600 for my Edge 500 with the HR & speed/cadence sensor bundle from EasyGIS when they first came out at the beginning of this year. It was totally worth getting it then.
  14. Thanks for the reminder. Just updated.
  15. I also do a lot of LSD over the weekends.
  16. I really wanted to hit 5,000 but couldn't be assed to slog it out in the wind this week. It's holidays after all...
  17. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=slangkop+kommetjie&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=57.379893,114.169922&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Vlooiberg&ll=-34.152656,18.344765&spn=0.05938,0.111494&t=h&z=14 If you stick to the M65, you go in to Kommetjie, up the climb with the lighthouse out to your right. Slangkop road cuts out Kommetjie from the route.
  18. Sweet !!!
  19. I'm a ninja! It's called trying to make a difference so that the people involved in cycling who can have the biggest, most positive influence do just that! CycleLab / SuperCycling and Mr Price GT (in my one & only other post about cyclists misbehaving) are two such groups/companies who could make things better for all cyclists out there, not just those that pay to be their members or ride for their team. To me, not doing something about a problem is actually contributing to the problem. The problem is motorists can and will take out their frustrations with cyclists who are law-abiding, as a result of others doing wrong and pissing them off. I would just hope that both the companies/sponsors I mentioned above reiterate that their members set a good example for all cyclists. It's not a lot to ask.
  20. I'm not "flaming" the club and I am certainly not apologising. It's highlighting the fact that a big club, with a big brand presence behind them have the ability to influence people, hopefully in a positive way.
  21. I was being sarcastic too.
  22. That was and still is my original point.
  23. I'm totally lost for words.
