  3. Hi All, This morning i was attacked by a demented homeless person, i was cycling on the footpath after the bridge over the N7 heading toward botasig circle, this vagrant looking fellow was walking along the footpath away from botasig circle. He was carrying a large branch in each hand - similar to something you would see hikers carrying, he stepped onto the grass next to the footpath as i approached and when i was about 10 meters away he started screaming incoherently moved the sticks into Xhosa attack mode - (left stick held in the middle, right stick held at the base like a sword) - there was no time for me to do anything and he swung at my head, i swerved to the left and ducked, my front wheel left the footpath and slid, i went down hard, i jumped to my feet and was winded and seeing stars, the assailant was still screaming jibbarish and beating his sticks together, but at least retreating.....i had to lean against a lamp-pole as i was winded and still seeing stars. I walked a couple of steps back to my bike and my broken into bits Garmin Edge 705. The nuts ninja was about 30m away from me by now, still screaming and walking away, when i started picking up my bike etc, he started running back at me with an empty (i assume) Old Brown Sherry glass bottle, i hopped on my bike and got out of there. edit: - just so it is said, no i did not provoke the guy.

  9. Castlecote in parow East - epoxy powder coated two of my old beat up hard tail frames, i am very happy with the result.
  10. Hi all, thought i would contribute. I regularly get sick, mainly colds that become respiratory infections, after years of trying things this is what works for me, below is the protocol i follow if i have an active sinus infection (multi colored mucus), if i dont clear that it will generally lead to ear infection and bronchitis. i use a nasal rinse kit twice a day.....(i use it 2-3 times per week when healthy, this is one of the best changes for my sinuses) then i have linctagonc and acc200 in the morning and evening. and quite a high dose of both septogard and ViralGuard. finally 2 squirts of this into each nostril. *Disclaimer - I am not a doctor nor chemist, i just have found that this works for me.

  17. my 1st "restarted" cycling bike was a makro special. 1st wheelie off a pavement broke the saddle, fell and buckled the wheel. as the people that braai with their fingers say. "Goedkoop is duur koop"
  18. I am sorted thank you very much guys, And a thanks to Woodstock Cycleworks, friendly dudes will a cool little shop and weird bikes. They told me about this site, will def help me in my search for the ever elusive magic gear. http://eehouse.org/fixin/formfmu.php
  19. as for motivation, spend a couple of moments on thinking of those who cannot live an active lifestyle. think of the homeless, the sick, the deformed and the handicapped, and those who were able to choose to get up early for that ride, but now for whatever reason cannot. There is an old homeless cripple that begs in the road near where i work. That old man motivates me. My post comes off as depressing but that is not my intention. As a collective us cyclists are some of the luckiest people alive.
  20. Rule #6 // Free your mind and your legs will follow. Your mind is your worst enemy. Do all your thinking before you start riding your bike. Once the pedals start to turn, wrap yourself in the sensations of the ride – the smell of the air, the sound of the tires, the feeling of flight as the bicycle rolls over the road.
  21. hello all I started out as this. but then my owner carelessly left me within the blast radius of a Gamma bomb, the next morning i awoke as this........ i broke through the front doors of my riders office and threw chairs togther and chilled on the make shift couch........ i am actually not in a rage all the time......but i am DAMN fun to ride.
