  1. First if all, determine which size bike will fit you - The Giant is a large (20" closer to XL if you ask me) and the Trek is a small.
  2. +1 but make mine the Flow 29er + red Hopes. Also getting silver Thomson seat post to match the raw alu frame, red seat post clamp & chain ring bolts, XT flat SPD's, red cabling, red & black carbon 10spd X9 RD and some other bits and bobs
  3. A thread was bombed off the face off the interwebs earlier tonight - had to do with the significance of tomorrow as a public awareness day of sorts...
  4. PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you a GPS/Endomondo map of the route.
  5. I have a raw Niner and smaak the lack of paint job kwaai. Raw I say!
  6. Since you are in GP I would recommend Breedts at least once every weekend just to get used to long days in the saddle and some real hills. Spinning about 3 times during the week if riding is not possible. With a couple of weeks to go do Breedts on Sat & Sun. Drink beer in between. Doing the above should make you fighting fit.
  7. Thanks. That is more or less what I thought On other overseas forums I found that the general yard stick for mtb handlebars is that if it feels good it is good. Just looks a bit odd - tall bike with monstrous wheels and then the skinny handlebar.
  8. Loosen the brake lever clamp and push the grips off with the brake lever clamp. Use window cleaner to add the new grips. Whilst were asking questions; I recently became the proud owner of a Niner Rip 9. Handlebar on the beast is an Easton Monkeylite riser bar, 600mm wide. What would you recommend I change it to?
  9. Was not there but can appreciate the fact that your enquiry about the topless titties is posted in the Rant & Rave section
  10. According to Katie, an unlaced plimsoll is by far the best riding shoe with its bendy, thick sole. English please woman!
  11. Thanks. Mailed them earlier today but only received the generic reply. Hopefully I'll get a decent reply tomorrow. As a side I ordered some chain rings from CWC this morning, received the tracking number a couple of hours later and I'm expecting a delivery tomorrow so well done guys!
  12. Puke. Rather post pics of the ugly Salma/Selma.
  13. R4500+ order yesterday. Today when I did a check up on the order, some of the stuff is out of stock. In fact, a lot of the stuff I wanted to order was out of stock. I structured my order in such a way that I only ordered available stuff. Only when I paid did they tell me that some of the stuff was out of stock. Balls. Now what?!? Do they only dispatch when the items are back in stock again? This would be April if you were wondering...
  14. OK.
  15. It was oh so puuuuuuurdy!!!!
  16. ...but why do you want to wash the "character" out of the shirt? Are you planning on wearing it to a job interview? My new hub shirt has a lot of character now because of the red mud. Mud on a cycling shirt is like red wine stains on a wedding dress and testament to a great time
  17. Maybe that is where all the confusion started. People were complaining about Barry and his pink boa. Somewhere along the lines it got jumbled up into being Burry and his kit. Damn broken telephone effect.
  18. Great pics all!
  19. Nice bike. Might be worth your while going for a professional set-up... Suppose that it is easier going from a HT to full-susser than it is doing it in reverse... Reckon my HT is going to be an overpriced paper weight in months to come.
  20. Yup. Your 40yo back wiff 75kg's should be in about the same condition as my 34yo back wiff 90kg's under the bonnet. That being said... Buy the bike. BUY IT! ...before logic and reason kicks in...
  21. Doing mine this weekend. Found this on the web. Should be of some help http://www.foxracingshox.com/fox_tech_center/owners_manuals/012/index.html
  22. Sheez dude. Glad you are OK. Here's to hoping their knees looks worse off than yours...
  23. Nope not at all. With the previous 2 I weighed about 90kg's and did them on a 26"HT. As mentioned by others the single track is well manicured.
  24. S'pose like most rides with some timing equipment.
  25. Same here. Ordered a big bottle of Stans & a shock pump on Friday. Was delivered yesterday!!! What amazes me is that I get better service from them than any of my LBS' in JHB and they are 1600km away.
